Aujourd'hui, nous débutons une petite série sur les embouts de watercooling. Non pas des tests, mais tout simplement des présentations de quelques modèles originaux. Et on attaque avec Monsoon, une petite société américaine qui propose des embouts très... Colorés ?

If i was to go out and visit any computer related store around where i live and i was to ask which types of CPU coolers they have available in their inventory right now chances are they will only have regular CPU air coolers and some AIO liquid CPU coolers. Unfortunately even now custom water cooling kits and parts are still considered niche hardware components in many places and that goes double for other types of cooling like waterchillers. Of course AIO liquid CPU coolers are reasonably priced, are easy to mount and offer very good cooling efficiency levels which in some cases can even compete with those produced by custom water cooling kits. Unfortunately however they don't support expandability and that has always been a serious drawback for enthusiasts, overclockers and even serious gamers. We did predict that eventually we'd see "hybrid" models designed after both AIO liquid CPU coolers and custom water cooling kits and shortly after Alphacool made their debut with the Eisberg line EK WaterBlocks just released their very own EK-XLC Predator line.

Ever tried to keep your X58 motherboards IOH and ICH temps at a reasonable operating temperatures ? To be honest most of the stock heatsinks really need some help as they are underdimensioned and/or lack an active fan. Temperatures over 65°C are very comon. Many watercooling companies jumped on the wagon to manufacture a all in one cooling solution for all the hot parts of the mainboard. No seperate waterblocks for the IOH and ICH chipset or PWM area. One block that cools down the hottest parts of your favoruite motherboard. EK Waterblocks was so kind to send us their clear nickel plated version for the Asus Rampage 3 Extreme

During the last years, many cooling vendors included all in one liquid cooling solutions into their lineups. While being very popular, thanks to the good cooling performance, plus requiring zero maintenance and their ease of installation, the 120mm models had a major drawback. The noise generated was either at a disturbing level when the end user required maximum cooling or the cooling performance would get a significant performance hit when the fan speeds were lowered; the larger 240mm models coped far better with modern processors. Secondly due to the larger dissipation area allowed them to operate at a far more acceptable noise level. With the new breed 140 or 280mm AIOs the gap is closed again with the full blown do-it-yourself watercooled kits. Today we review a true watercooling kit, in it's purest form: the Slovenian EK waterblocks LT 360.

The Nvidia TITAN card is one serious monster gaming graphics card. Maximum performance awaits you if you are able to pay the atmospheric price tag. For those that want the fastest single GPU graphics card at the moment, this is the right one for you. But it's not all roses here for Nvidia's fastest GPU. The TITAN card is seriously limited by an average power design, allowing almost no extra headroom for that little extra crunching power. Secondly the stock heatsink is also running on its toes to keep the card just below throttling temperature. The latter is where watercooling comes to the rescue. Slovenian EK Waterblocks was so kind to send us one of their full cover block TITAN versions bundled with the backplate. A newer XL version of this full cover block also has popped up in the EK online shop. Time to unpack one of EK's marvels.
