You have probably noticed there are a lot of AIO coolers on the market today. It seems like every other week a company is launching a new AIO unit, or a new company is bringing their first to market. Most of these units are built by watercooling systems manufacturer Asetek. Today we’re going to take a look at the Cooler Master Seidon 240M, this one is designed and built in house by Cooler Master…or is it? Follow along as we put this controversial cooler through it’s paces and find out what it can do.

Asetek is a manufacturer of high performance computer water cooling components and accessories. In this review we look at their XSPC RayStorm CPU Waterblock, RX360 Radiator and D5 Dual Bay Reservoir and Pump Combo.

Enermax's entrance in to the all in one water cooling market is one that interests many. This is primarily because unlike most other competitors, they have not opted for the traditional Asetek or CoolIT route. Instead they have opted to go with Asia Vital Components (as far as I know anyway). Even if AVC are not their chosen partners, it is still clear they are not working with Asetek or CoolIT. What this means is that performance will probably differ a lot to Asetek and CoolIT units, potentially for the better or for the worse - only testing will reveal this. Today we have with us the Enermax ELC 240 and as the name would suggest this product uses a 240mm radiator along with a pair of Enermax 120mm fans. With the ELC 240 Enermax are bundling two T.B. Silence 120mm cooling fans. Unlike the Enermax ELC 120 which comes with a choice of T.B or T.A fans, the ELC 240 is only available with T.B fans meaning you cannot have an LED option. Other than that key bit of information, the rest of the main specifications can be seen below.

The high performance cooling that "all in one" or "closed loop" liquid CPU coolers bring is becoming ever more popular. Everything above the upper-entry level price point, approximately above £45/€60/$70, is largely dominated by these types of coolers. The market up until January this year was dominated by 120mm radiator or 240mm radiator units. However, Corsair and NZXT, working with Asetek, have now made a significant leap forward in bringing out 140mm and 280mm based radiator units. You will be able to find reviews of the NZXT Kraken X40, NZXT Kraken X60, Corsair H90 and this unit, the H110, on our website. These 140mm fan based units offer larger radiator surface areas and higher airflow fans which ultimately means better cooling performance.

One of the biggest selling points of Swiftech’s all in one cooler, the H220 is it’s claim to be a fully expandable liquid cooling system. By this they mean it is possible to add other cooling elements to the self contained loop. This would mean that for the price of only $139.99 USD you can buy for yourself the complete set of core components needed for a custom liquid cooling loop, something that would normally cost around $300. The main components include; a pump, a radiator, a block for the component you wish to cool, and a reservoir. Starting off from these items you can now easily add any other element from your rig to the loop. If their claim is true, the sky’s the limit, you can liquid cool anything from your gpu to your chipset, to your ram. Not keeping cool enough with just the 240mm radiator? Throw an additional radiator into the loop as well! Follow along as we explore how to work with a liquid cooling loop, and find out just what the limits of this “expandability” are.

Thermaltake is not a new comer to the water-cooling market. Unlike the majority other companies currently that are selling All-in-one (AiO) water-coolers. Thermaltake has had their Bigwater water cooler on the market for some time, and they still do. However, they have also moved into the AiO market, and produced their own coolers, the Water 2.0 series.

Buona lettura.
