For this review I will be looking at a product from one of Xtreme Computing’s long time friends, Akasa and the product I will be looking at is one of their new CPU coolers, the NeroS. Coming from Akasa and being labelled aa a “Premier Cooler” I am expecting some good results.

In unserem kleinen Vergleich wollen wir die Auswahl etwas erleichtern und stellen euch drei Kühler vor, welche einige Gemeinsamkeiten aber auch einige Unterschiede aufweisen. In the past, notebook coolers have featured a few fans wrapped together in a block of plastic. While relatively effective on paper, not all designs were functional or ideal for all laptops. So let's go back to basics and start from the beginning. A computer system is nothing without sufficient cooling much like a car performs better when at an optimum temperature, whereas some develop faults with cold starts. While the HDT SD964W cooler from Xigmatek isn't the best performing tower cooler I've seen, it does have a niche that many enthusiasts may want to explore. It didn't perform well on the overclocked Q6600 in the test mule, but it should be more than adequate for dual and tri-core processors in the 65W range with moderate voltage increases.

The Corsair H100i is among the best close-looped water coolers on the market, but its integration with Link software, unique visual style and inclusion of two high performance SP120L fans makes it a step above most of the Asetek clones on the market. The price of the H110i is also right on with the performance and the build quality is top notch. Just make sure you don’t use the fans at their highest setting because they are too loud when above 2000RPM.
Working with a concept designed many years ago, Cooler Master has decided to revamp another of their work horses like when they redid the CM 690 not to long ago. Cooler Master pulled the Vortex 752 from the shelf and thought of what they can do to make this cooler capable of handling the heat of today's more demanding multi-cored processors. To the think tank they went and they have come back with the Vortex Plus.
As aftermarket CPU coolers continue a trend of "bigger is badder", manufacturers must constantly tweak their designs to ensure compatibility across multiple platforms. Perhaps no one knows this better than Austrian company Noctua. Within the last year we've reviewed three coolers from them, the NH-D14, the C12P SE14 and the U9B SE2, and two of those feature their signature NF-P14 140mm fan. If you thought finding room to put one 140mm fan on a CPU cooler wasn't challenging enough, today we take a look at Noctua's latest creation, the NH-C14, and see how they manage to squeeze two of them on there.
