Oggi abbiamo il piacere di presentarvi la recensione del dissipatore Silverstone HE01. Finalmente questo marchio, che è famosissimo e rinomato per quanto riguarda i cabinet di fascia alta, dopo aver introdotto nel passato alcuni modelli di dissipatori dalle dimensioni non eccessivamente generose, ha rilasciato una serie di modelli il cui obiettivo principale è competere nella fascia alta del mercato. Questo dissipatore, l’Heligon 01 presenta due torri di raffreddamento, oltre ad un design delle stesse sfalsato ed asimmetrico, che permette la massima compatibilità con lo slot di RAM frontale, e quindi ideale per tutte le piattaforme in commercio ad eccezione del socket LGA 2011. Per forza di cose, data la necessità di standardizzare i test termici, lo testeremo comunque su quest’ultima piattaforma, con un processore Intel SB-E 3930K. Alpenfohn are a quite reputable German brand known for their high quality enthusiast cooling products and their range of fans is certainly no exception. Alpenfohn boast about the "German Engineering" that goes into their fans and we wonder whether those Germans have what it takes to match up to that Austrian Engineering that Noctua seem to have dominated the enthusiast fan market with.
It’s been a while since I’ve reviewed any CPU coolers here on TestFreaks, not sure why, but I’ve got one now from Evercool called the Silent Shark. This cooler is big and it includes two 120mm fans that help to keep you CPU cool. The cooler also has a very unique feature that allows the user to angle the front fan up and outwards letting it clear the ram slots allowing you to use ram with larger style heatsinks on it. Today we are taking a look at a CPU cooler that is very different to the types of CPU coolers we normally look at. We are examining the Gelid Slim Silence A-Plus. This is an ultra compact CPU cooler designed for AMD sockets AM2/AM2+/AM3/AM3+/FM1/FM2 that has been designed specifically for small form factor uses. The Slim Silence A Plus comes in at just 28mm high meaning it is perfect for 1U servers where the maximum total height per shelf is 44.45 mm which also includes the motherboard and RAM. It is difficult for us to test this up against many competitors because we know of very few - even the Noctua NH-L9a at 38mm high is too high for a 1U server. Despite this we will still be comparing this against the AMD reference stock cooler that is roughly 60mm high to get a grasp on what kind of performance the Gelid Slim Silence A-Plus offers.
