A pair of new notebook coolers arrived from Thermaltake. First we will have a look at the Massive 14 Squared, and see what it is all about.
The $99 price tag is reasonable considering this is Noctua’s flagship product after all and is competitively priced against similar performing dual-tower coolers such as the Phanteks TC14PE and even the Cooler Master Nepton 140XL we tested in this review. Noctua’s NH-D15 has the advantage of a 6-year warranty, longer than any CPU cooler in the market which further adds to its value. For an overall impressive thermal handling capability while performing at a reasonable noise level, topped with the familiar Noctua premium quality, the NH-D15 earns the Hardware-360 approved award.
The design on the R1 Ultimate is very straightforward, dual tower with some interesting features that never fall into gimmicks and make perfect sense from a cooling standpoint. The Convex Align heatpipe layout allows Cryorig to squeeze a seventh 6mm heatpipe onto the contact block, which is obviously a nice gain, especially for those using physically larger CPUs such as AMD FX or Intel 2011.
Corsair is bringing out three new All In One liquid cooling systems. H80i GT (120mm radiator and two fans in push/pull) and H100i GTX (240mm radiator with two fans) occupy slots towards the upper reaches of the product range, and right at the pinnacle we have the new H110i GT. Employing a 280mm radiator and dual 140mm fans, the H110i GT marries the size of the H110 with features we have previously seen in H100i Extreme.

AMDs Radeon HD 4870 ist eine beliebte Grafikkarte mit hoher 3D-Leistung, doch leider erweist sich ihre GPU als echter Heizer. Dies macht sich natürlich auch anhand der Lautstärke des Lüfters bemerkbar, der zuweilen an einen kleinen Hubschrauber erinnert. Da trifft es sich gut, dass es alternative GPU-Kühler wie den Arctic Cooling Accelero Twin Turbo oder den Scythe Musashi gibt. So dachten wir und begaben uns auf eine lange Odyssee.
Obwohl die GPU-Temperaturen von Anfang an hervorragend aussahen, zeigte sich schnell ein großer Haken. Als Bonus erwartete uns nicht klebende Klebefolie, eine GPU, die ihre Spezifikationen überschreitet, und Grafiktreiber, die Testläufe manipulieren. Ganz im Ernst: Mehrmals spielten wir mit dem Gedanken, diese undankbare Aufgabe sein zu lassen und unsere Arbeit produktiver einzusetzen. Doch ein Blick in diverse Foren führte uns vor Augen, wie viele Benutzer sich mit dieser Problematik herumschlagen und dabei tagtäglich ihre Grafikkarte riskieren. Folglich ist dies mehr ein Erfahrungsbericht und eine Anleitung zur bestmöglichen Modifikation einer Radeon HD 4870, aber ganz bestimmt kein normaler Test.
