Erst kürzlich präsentierte ARCTIC mit dem Accelero Twin Turbo 690 einen neuen Alternativ-Kühler für Nvidias aktuelles Kepler-Flaggschiff in Form der GTX 690. Das ausladende Doppel-Lüfter-Konstrukt basiert auf der bereits bekannten Kühlung für Dual-GPU-Grafikkarten des Schweizer Herstellers , wurde aber entsprechend an das PCB der GTX 690 angepasst. Was der neue Twin Turbo auf dem Geforce-Geschoss zu leisten vermag, soll dieses Review zeigen.
Noctua is company known for high quality and excellent performing CPU coolers and fans. It’s safe to say that most of their product line is aimed at the high end user who wants to push their system or CPU to the limits. Enthusiasts, or overclockers they would be called, and that’s all fine and good if you’re that type of person, Noctua certainly has a cooler for you that will keep your CPU cool even under overclocked conditions. What happens if you’re not one of those types of people? What about those who really don’t care much about overclocking, or those that much prefer an SFF or HTPC style system? Your choices are pretty limited when it comes to choosing a CPU cooler that is quiet and yet performs well and one that’s high quality. Noctua has a solution for you now, they’ve ventured into making coolers made for more cramped systems, and they’ve brought all of their knowledge and skills from making enthusiast style coolers to do this so you can expect a top-notch product . They’ve come out with two of these coolers, one of which I have for review today called the NH-L9i, where the ‘I’ in the name stands for Intel, the other cooler is the NH-L9a which is for AMD CPUs specifically. Noctua continues to broaden their range of coolers to meet differing needs. The NH-C14′s dual fan design allows you to adapt it to your needs should you have restrictions for height in either your case or on your motherboard. It utilizes the secuFirm2 mounting system which makes installation a breeze on even such a large cooler. As we have come to expect the NH-C14 contains top notch quality and cooling as we have come to expect from Noctua.
Zwei Jahre nach dem durchschlagenden Erfolg des Scythe Mugen 2 CPU-Kühlers und der zwischenzeitlichen Revision B des Mugen 2, schicken die Japaner nun den bereits auf der CeBIT 2011 präsentierten Nachfolger ins Rennen: den Mugen 3 Kühler. Diese inzwischen vierte Revision des Preis-Leistungsriesen soll auf das selbe Kunden Klientel abzielen und somit die peisbewußten Käufer ansprechen, die keinesfalls auf eine gute Kühlleistung inklusive Verarbeitungsqualität verzichten wollen.
Augenscheinliche Unterschiede sind kaum zu verbergen, der Mugen 3 verfügt jetzt über sechs anstatt fünf Heatpipes, die allerdings in vier und nicht mehr fünf separaten Lamellentürmchen münden. Das patentierte F.M.S.B. Befestigungssystem wurde weiter optimiert, so daß alle aktuellen Prozessoren laut Hersteller unterstützt werden. Darüber hinaus gestalten sich die Abmessungen des Kühlers deutlich kompakter, was sich auch in einem etwas reduziertem Gewicht widerspiegelt. Kurzum, die Weichen für einen weiteren Verkaufsschlager waren gestellt, schauen wir uns also in diesem Test gemeinsam an, ob die Reduzierung der Kühlfläche mit gleichzeitiger Heatpipeaufstockung die Konkurrenz noch in Schach halten kann. Arctic a décidé de renouer avec le gros radiateur à petit prix, et propose depuis quelques temps les i30 / A30, en fonction du processeur. Dans notre cas, on reste chez les bleus, et on s'attarde un peu sur ce modèle vendu à partir de 30€, dont le ventilateur peut tomber à pas moins de 400rpm.
Until now NZXT have not produced a range of budget CPU coolers before. We've seen the NZXT Havik series which was designed as enthusiast-class air cooling, and we have the NZXT Kraken series on the way targeting the all-in-one liquid cooling market segment. From my knowledge the NZXT Respire series sprang more or less out of nowhere and I didn't see it coming until a box turned up at my door.
The Noctua NF-S12A FLX, PWM, ULN Fans are outstanding and will fit the bill no matter what case cooling application you have. The FLX is a flexible fan for most applications. PWM stands for pulse width modulation and this fan has a 4pin connector. ULN stands for ultra low noise and it's near silent. All these fans perform well, are reliable & quiet.
With the recent attention shift to closed loop CPU water cooling, air coolers are starting to move out of the limelight. But, the fact is, good air coolers still offer features that water coolers are not able to. That is exactly what Cooler Master has done with their newest CPU air cooler, the GeminII S524. Rather then compete directly with the new behemoth coolers, the GeminII shifts its focus from simply cooling the CPU to also cooling nearby components. While the Mugen 2 was a bulky, rather unattractive and more industrial looking cooler, today we have a tower cooler with aluminum fins and copper heat pipes and Scythe even keeps the pre-cooler on board. But that is where the similarities end. The design, concepts and physics built into the latest sample are in a way something I have seen, such as offset fins, but this Trident Multi Layer Fin Structure is something completely new. Now, I have seen notches and cuts and curves, even closing off the sides to get better temperatures and fan air flow, but never implemented like this.
Reviewing graphics cards, mechanical keyboards, monitors and all sorts of other fancy products can be fun, but sometimes we have to break it down to basics and look at something a little more humble; case in point, this fan. However, don't get too downhearted, it's still nerdy as hell and packed with "features", for a fan at least.
