While many companies during the recession decided to diversify their business to stay afloat, one company that decided to stick with what they do best, make coolers; that company was Noctua. Hailing from the only country in the world with their own "Fan Comission" that works tirelessly to produce simply better fan, Austria, Noctua have a pair of giant coolers that are designed to chill the hottest of chips. Let's see how they do.

This time we are going to take a look at serious air cooling. Prolimatech is known as a producer of high quality air coolers which stand the test against most concurrents. Today we are going to look at two of Prolimatech top air coolers, the thin but wide Armageddon and the proper and copper, Super Mega heatsinks. Both coolers will be matched against each other and valued for their respective prices and market position.

High performance air heatsinks are becoming rarer these days, compared to a few years back, as many companies have turned their attention towards all in one water coolers instead of air heatsinks. Thankfully there are still companies endeavouring to innovate in the air heatsink market and today we are taking a look at the latest product innovation from Gelid Solutions. The Gelid Solutions Black Edition has been on our radar since Computex 2012 and Gelid Solutions used CES 2013 in Las Vegas as the springboard to launch this new product.
With 7 heatpipes, two 120mm fans and a relatively compact form factor the Gelid Solutions Black Edition CPU cooler looks like a nice balance between functionality, noise, performance and style. I am very excited to take a look at this new product from Gelid Solutions which now becomes their latest and greatest flagship product. You can check out the full specifications here but a couple of things worth noting, aside from the obvious CPU cooler "stuff", is that this product boasts a huge 5 year warranty and included GC-Extreme thermal paste - one of the best, if not the best, thermal pastes on the market. But without any further ado let us take this bad boy for a spin and see how it performs.

The PH-TC14PE CPU Cooler from the new company Phanteks offers impressive performance, has 4 available colors and comes with 2 140mm fans which match the heatsink; the product is also shipped with extra accessories like screws to be able to install the fans onto the case, vibration dampeners, an adapter for running the fans at 900RPM or a fan cable splitter.

Due to the positive experiences we have had with Arctic Cooling products in the past we always look forward to their latest releases and today we have three such items on our review bench. For AMD CPUs there is the Alpine 64 Pro, mainstream GPUs get the Accelero L2 Pro and the GTX 260/275/280 get their own version of the Accelero (Xtreme GTX280).

As a huge bonus to the buyers of the newer coolers I am seeing, the coolers themselves are getting more and more efficient, and new leaps are being made in fan designs. If I were to tell you I was using a 2000 RPM fan that would push about 60 CFM, you would assume there to be a nice hum emanating from the fan. The coolers I am seeing lately are really stepping up to the plate to offer fans of this caliber that are in actuality, very silent. One of the companies taking steps to relieve your ears is Titan.

With the HAVIK 140, NZXT has proven to me that they can take their skills and expertise in the PC gaming world and apply them to just about any component that they want. The cooling performance was top notch, the noise production was just about non-existent, and the installation was fairly easy. There isn't much else you can ask for when it comes to a CPU cooler.
