Aircooling
Scythe's Rasetsu heatsink stands out because of a mixture of acute and obtuse isosceles triangular voids cut into the leading and trailing edges of the heatsinks aluminum fins. It's a technique Scythe label the "Trident Multi Layer Fin Structure" and the point of it is to maximize air intake volume. More on this is a moment, as it's impossible to explain clearly without accompanying photographs...

Most CPU coolers can either be installed vertically or horizontally inside of a case, but what if I told you there’s a CPU cooler out there that is installed diagonally inside of the case? Then you’d be looking at the new Cooler Master X6 Elite which features an angled installation which Cooler Master claims to provide better cooling performance inside of the case. Read on further to see what else this cooler has in store and if it can keep up to par with other coolers.
Aircooling
Low profile CPU coolers are taking off in popularity these days as people look to build their own NAS systems, HTPCs and portable gaming rigs. With so many low profile CPU coolers out there it is easy to get overwhelmed but today we are hoping to simplify things a bit as we are taking a look at another low profile CPU cooler this time courtesy of Prolimatech. The Prolimatech Samuel 17 is a low profile CPU cooler boasting six 6mm heat pipes and support for an 120mm fan and it measures in at just 45mm tall before adding a fan. The Samuel 17 is Prolimatech’s only low profile CPU cooler that they have ever made and they specifically market it for HTPC systems.
With a whole host of competitors to the Prolimatech Samuel 17 (such as the Gelid Slim Hero, Scythe Big Shuriken 2, Noctua NH-L12 and so on) we are really hoping that it can deliver something good because the competition is pretty stiff these days in the low profile CPU cooler market.

When people ask me what is a good air CPU cooler Noctua is always a name that comes to mind. They are known for their great cooling solutions, both big and small. When it comes to air coolers one of the biggest problems is compatibility. Many performance and high-end memory modules are large heatspreaders and they can get in the way. Noctua of course knows this and has made an effort to come out with CPU coolers that will be compatible in all situations. The NH-U14S is one such cooler. It is designed with a 52mm thin heatsink stack that allows for full RAM compatibility on socket 2011 as well as other platforms. Normally we see these massive heatsinks from Noctua so will the NH-U14S still be able to perform up to the standards we know Noctua for? Read on as we find out!

Today however the focus is on another technology which has seen broad adoption: exposed heatpipe bases. Like natural evolution, this thermal design technique took hold and displaced heavy copper heatspreaders about two years ago. The result is a market filled with exposed heatpipe base CPU coolers, mostly in tower form. The DeepCool's IceWing 5 Pro is however a 'suspended heatsink', which is good because it lowers total height to a moderate 131mm

Let's test the Transformer 3 CPU cooler from Evercool, which has a tower heatsink with three heatpipes and a 120 mm fan. Check it out!

The target market for this cooler is HTPC and other small form factor designs with limited space. For its intended market the Thermaltake MeOrb would be a decent upgrade over the stock cooler both in performance and looks.

With so many water cooling radiator options on the market, it’s no wonder that people have trouble choosing which is best for their loop. There are many things to consider: price, performance, size, and style. One option that ticks many boxes is from XSPC, the AX240. Follow along as we take a look at this sleek radiator and find out if it may work for you.

The Titan Fenrir Siberia Edition is a huge CPU cooler with one horizontal heatsink with a 140 mm fan and a second heatsink equipped with a 120 mm fan. Let's test it.
