We reviewed Akasa Nero CPU cooler, which fits sockets 1366, 775, 939, AM2, AM2+ and AM3 processors, have three U-shaped heatpipes and a 120 mm fan. Let's compare its performance to Thermaltake BigTyp 14Pro we recently reviewed.

The release of Intel’s i7 architecture has seen thermal solutions increase in size with more fans, fins and heatpipes in order to try and counter the massive 130W TDP. Many products have tried and failed to really stand out when it comes to working with a Nehalem rig and could simply not keep up with the heat levels produced.
Asus have impressed us in the past with their cooling solutions and their latest product from the ‘Triton’ range features a twin-pillared design with a centred 120mm fan as well as coming LGA1366 ready. So how will it shape up atop our i7 920 processor? Let’s take a look…

Corsair gets their feet wet again, after close to 3 years they have introduced another water cooling product, the previous one being the Nautilus 500 back in 2006. This time around they’ve also opted for an all-in-one kit, but build inside the case, fitted onto the exhaust fan, a case with 120mm exhaust is a requirement, a large wallet is not! The Corsair H50 will be introduced at price of ~€/$70 which is pretty much on par with high end air cooled heatsinks out there! So can an all-in-one kit impress us? Let's find out!

Tested BigTyp 14Pro, a CPU cooler from Thermaltake with six U-shaped heatpipes and a 140-mm fan. Check it out!

With multiple core CPUs, multi-GPU video graphics sub-systems and hotter than hot mainboard north and southbridge chipsets it becomes necessary for most gaming computers to have more and more fans. With the fans comes noise. Of course there's water cooling, but not everyone is capable or even brave enough to give that a try. So what do you do? Well one option is to use a fan speed controller. There are many fan controllers available but today Benchmark Reviews will look specifically at the NZXT SEN-001LX Sentry LX aluminum digital dual-bay fan controller.

There are all sorts of laptop coolers on the market, but OCIA.net has only seen a few of them. Back in February of last year, our reviewer Frank Stroupe had a chance to check out NZXT's high end, aluminum laptop cooler, the Cryo LX, which fits up to 19” wide-screen laptops. NZXT was born into the case market, so designing for style on top of functionality is the name of their game. This design process proved thoughtful and effective as the Cryo LX earned our seal of approval. Today, NZXT is at it again, as I have a look at their Cryo S aluminum laptop cooler.

There are numerous options out there for cooling your case. The last I checked everyone and their mother had a fan that was meant to “optimize” the effective cooling by having different blade shapes, or floating magnetic movement opposed to ball bearing movement. And then there are sizes... LOTS of sizes. Everyone's fan is better than anyone else's, and the world of cooling has been revolutionized by simply changing the shape of a plastic blade and punching a few holes here and there. Kind of makes you wonder what, if anything, is changed about such minor alterations.

Packaging is straight-forward, and installation instructions are on the back. The revision 2 utilizes the same low-noise blue LEDs that the original cooler used. The main difference here is that the revision 2 now has a two-speed switch incorporated into the cooler's body. The construction of the XTC v2 is a bit lighter than the original due to the use of black brushed aluminum instead of the chrome.
