DeepCool's Killer Whale heatsink is a top-down cooler built around two critical things. It has a hefty solid copper heat spreader (base) onto which six 6mm diameter heatpipes have been soldered, and a large and potentially very quiet 48mm thick 120mm PWM fan that spins at 1000-1800RPM. The fan moves approximately 78CFM, while generating at most 53.5 dBA and at least a whisper quiet 34.8 dBA. The Killer Whale stands 140mm tall and weighs a hefty 900 grams, but if you were to replace the fan with a more compact 120mm model that height could be as little as 92mm + fan thickness.
This time we reviewed Thermaltake ISGC-200 CPU cooler, which uses the same fan of ISGC-100 but has a completely different design, with heatsinks making "sandwiching" the fan. Will its performance be better than its "little brother"?

Today for review I’ve got another Thermaltake product, this one is called the Massive 23 ST, it’s a notebook cooler, and as you can gather by its name it’s big. The Massive ST features a body made of plastic and metal, making it lightweight for portability, but in the center of it is a 200mm cooling fan to make sure your laptop or netbook stays nice and cool. I’ve got the Acer Aspire one D250 and I noticed that after using it for a while it can get quite hot, so I decided to test out the Massive 23 ST with it to see if it can help keep it cool.

Today however the focus is on another technology which has seen broad adoption: exposed heatpipe bases. Like natural evolution, this thermal design technique took hold and displaced heavy copper heatspreaders about two years ago. The result is a market filled with exposed heatpipe base CPU coolers, mostly in tower form. The DeepCool's IceWing 5 Pro is however a 'suspended heatsink', which is good because it lowers total height to a moderate 131mm
The top features the Fenrir’s own logo – what seems to be a very angry wolf, somewhat confirmed by Wikipedia as a “Fenrir” is essentially a mythical “monstrous wolf”. The tops of the 4 U-shaped heatpipes are also visible. The general feel of the Fenrir is a well put together heatsink, there do not appear to be any sharp edges which is reassuring considering the amount of cuts I have encountered whilst installing other HSFs!
We tested Noctua NH-C12P, an horizontal CPU cooler with six heatpipes and a 120 mm fan. Will it provide a performance similar to ts "brother" NH-U12P?
