Convection is when moving air transfers heat to or from a surface. This is the method used by most laptop coolers to keep your CPU, GPU and other critical components from overheating. From a cooling standpoint the Choiix Air Through Stash just doesn’t impress me, however when you look at its other features it starts to build some momentum. For starters having an easy and quick way to increase storage for your laptop is a big plus. The entire unit is light weight and small enough to easily fit into your laptop bag for traveling.
The Arctic NC is no doubt a nice product as you’d expect from Arctic. It does a decent job at cooling down a hot laptop. Its lightweight construction allows it to be portable which is always a plus. However, I am not a fan of the ergonomics of how it works. The need to rest just part of your laptop on it makes for a very unstable set-up; it has to be used on a flat surface and with care to prevent disaster.
