A NAS is a NAS, right? Not so with the DS210j from Synology. For the DS210j, NAS means Network Application Server, Move over devices that only give you shared folder support, the DS210j offers all the functionality of a x86 box in a small and neat package. The DiskStation Manager software brings it all together in a tight package.

Intel was gracious enough to send a shiny new drive to the lab for review, so first off we would like to thank Intel for their generosity and the opportunity to review another of their newly minted 20nm Lithography MLC Flash equipped SSD’s. The drive I am speaking of is a member of Intel’s newly launched 335 Series; this time in a 180GB capacity.

If you don't follow the SSD market like a hawk you may have missed Mushkin's recent rise to fame. Mushkin was the first SSD maker to announce, release, ship, and sell an extended capacity SandForce SF-1200 based SSD. At the same time I was writing about OCZ's Vertex 2 E, one of only a few in the country, Mushkin already had drives at Newegg and selling them at prices lower than anyone else's pre-MP2 releases.

Patriot Memory has been a long-time provider of system components for performance enthusiasts. It was a natural evolution for them to focus their efforts on SSDs to compliment the demand for high-end RAM. They were sucessful with their Inferno series, and now that SandForce has released their second-generation controller they're back with the Patriot Wildfire. In this article Benchmark Reviews tests performance on the 120GB Patriot Wildfire Solid State Drive, model PW120GS25SSDR, specified for up to 555 MB/s read and 520 MB/s write performance with 4K random write speeds as high as 80,000 IOPS in real world testing.

Earlier this month we looked at StarTech.com’s Dual SATA Enclosure and found it to be a very high quality product indeed, operating at a premium price range but offering quite a few features for the money as well. Today we’ll be looking at another item that has a slightly different purpose, but could be described in much the same way.

Intel is back again with another MLC/SandForce Based drive sporting Intel’s customized firmware. This drive is the newest in Intel’s 300 Series of Solid State Drives. The Intel SSD 335 we are going review today is basically an update to the 330. The 335 is sporting faster and more power efficient 20nm NAND Flash Memory. There are probably some firmware improvements to go along with the newer NAND but overall the 335 is a 330 with 20nm NAND Flash.

Kingston’s follow-up to the Wi-Drive, their portable wireless storage device is the MobileLite Wireless which incorporates wireless media streaming but in a slightly different fashion than its predecessor. The MobileLite Wireless is a BYOS (bring your own storage devices) as it works with both SD cards and USB devices but has no built in storage. This device is able to read and write to attached cards and drives streaming them over Wi-Fi. In addition the MobileLite Wireless functions as a mobile device charger with a built in 1800 mg lithium-ion battery.

During our recent trip to Computex in Tiapei we were able to talk to ADATA and get a look at their USB 3.0 Storage line. With USB 3.0 being a large increase in speed and performance over USB 2.0 it's a no brainer upgrade. Today we will be taking a look at a 750GB external HDD from the the Nobility NH13 line. Our gauge for looking at this product will be Performance and Build Quality.

If you’re multi-tasking user that often deals with compressed data like videos, music and other compressed data then you really can’t do much better than Corsairs’ Neutron GTX series. Neutrons have the smoothest most consistent performance of any drives we’ve ever reviewed as well as the most consistent performance over time as the drive becomes well used. Consistency is valued more than any other trait in the enterprise sector and because the LAMD Amber FSP at the heart of Neutron was born from the enterprise sector it’s really no surprise that Neutrons have superior consistency over time than any other consumer based drives.
