Corsair has been putting out SSDs for awhile now and we have the chance to give some of their best drives a side-by-side test run to flush out any differences that may help with your purchasing decision. Featuring both Marvell and SandForce controllers, the Performance Pro and Force GT drives out up some impressive numbers but which one, if either, stand out? Read on and see.

With little variation in the market we go gaga when something comes along that's different. Designed on a myth, built by enthusiasts and sold like any other SSD, this one is truly different.

Even before the Corsair Force GT arrived at my door, I knew it would be hot. I get a lot of emails from readers and don't mind answering each and every one, but right after our review of the Force 3 went live I was flooded with emails asking about the Force GT. The only other product that I can think that generated so much interest to date was the Fusion-io ioDrive.

The Force GT is the latest in Corsair's range of SandForce based SSDs and features a tweaked architecture which should benefit reading and writing of music and video files (uncompressible data). Today we will be putting the 120GB model through a selection of synthetic and real world tests to find out how it compares to an alternative model which is also tuned for OS use rather than maximum IOPS.

Corsair has always been one of the biggest players in the computer memory market, consequently it was only natural for them to join the solid state disk segment of the market since SSD’s are essentially made of flash memory chips. Today, VR-Zone is having a look at the fastest SSD Corsair currently produces, the Force GT 120GB drive which boasts incredible speeds of up to 555MB/s sequential read and 515MB/s sequential write. We are going to examine the drive’s synthetic and real world performance in this review.

As with any product, the more time you put into refining it, the better the end result. Reference designs may go through several revisions before they will reach optimal performance. That said, as time passes small issues that can cause problems in rare instances are isolated and solutions are implemented on an ongoing basis to make products better.

Corsair recently announced new capacities for both the Series 3 and Force GT lines of their SSD family making them the easy winner in capacity selection for any single SSD series choice that we know of. Shortly after that announcement, a Corsair Force GT SATA 3 240GB SSD arrived at the office and we couldn’t resist the chance to throw it on the bench and see the numbers this GT could push. From the looks of it at least, the GT is on fire!

Everyone knows the GT badge on a product means it's the high performance version. The Corsair Force 3 GT drives are no exception. Corsair even added a red paint job to add to the sporty theme. Will the GT take the checkered flag or will it get lapped? Have a look at our review and find out how it performs against other SandForce SF-2281 driven drives!

Value SSDs at the 120 GiB capacity are very popular nowadays, since they are affordable and have enough space to use them as a fast boot drive, while you can use a standard hard drive as a secondary drive to store your data files. Today, we are testing the Corsair Force LS, a value 120 GiB SSD, and comparing its performance to a very popular 2.5" SATA SSD, the Kingston SSDNow V300 120 GiB SSD
