NAS boxes are great, but how about a NUS box? NUS as in Network USB Storage. Cirago recently launched the NUS1000 which is sort of like a four port UBS hub for your network. It’s been a bit since I’ve taken a look at any USB 3.0 related products hasn’t it? I think the last thing was an enclosure, and while enclosures are nice I much prefer docks, they’re just so much more useful and so much more easier to use. Up on the review block today is Cirago’s TV Platinum CMC2000 1.5TB Network Multimedia Center. I personally have not yet had the opportunity to review anything like this for the site, so this was an exciting product to receive. The box boasts that it contains a 1.5TB hard drive for storage of recorded video and pictures, can record live TV, stream media, play internet radio, access files over your network via built-in NAS and look at all types of pictures. Backups are important and not long ago I looked at a product from Clickfree called the Traveler that worked well, today for review I’ve got another one from Clickfree but this one is very unique in that it works on your network but not how you might think. The Clickfree C2N Automatic Home Backup works with all of the computers on your network, but it works via USB and even wirelessly. Once you install the program called BackupLink on your computers, you can then backup any computer to the C2N from anywhere on your network, and the actual drive doesn’t have to be connected to the computer your backing up, it can be connected to any on your network. The program automatically find the C2N wherever it is on your network and starts the backup process via your network. It’s extremely simple to use, no actual networking is involved, it’s all automatic.
