Kitguru loves high performance NAS systems, and we have been focusing lately on many of the new Synology range. Today however we are looking at a very competitively priced product from Buffalo – the TeraStation Pro 8 Bay which is supplied with 8x1TB hard drives. This is the most affordable in a range of three configurations including 16TB and 24TB options.

Are you looking for a complete package for your business Windows network, and you're not too excited by a NAS based on Linux? Then the Buffalo TeraStation Pro Duo WSS may just be the ticket for you. All you basically need to do is to take it out of the box, connect it to your network and you can get started. This simple approach is definitely an advantage in business environments. This product really fits in an environment that's standardised around Windows Server, and is perfect if you need an extra file server or extra back-up options. The price of the 4TB Buffalo TeraStation Pro Duo WSS is around £835, which is £260 less than the more advanced Buffalo TeraStation 5200 with the same capacity but with Linux. A big chunk of the price difference undoubtedly goes to Microsoft.

As we all know USB 3.0 is an upcoming technology that will be the next most wanted storage or I/O interface since it has much faster speed than USB 2.0 technology; about 10x faster. Many storage vendors have started to ship their products with USB 3.0 interface and today we would like to bring you the first USB 3.0 flash drive from Centon with affordable price and compact size; RUSH 3.0.

PC cases offer a large number of HDD trays nowadays allowing people to mount and use several drives without ever having to worry about storage capacity. Still for professionals and even enthusiasts there's no such thing as sufficient storage space and because of that external HDD enclosures offer a good way to expand drive capacity without much hassle. HDD enclosures may not be hard to use and usually it doesn't take long to mount a drive inside but for people looking for the easiest and fastest possible way to use 3.5/2.5" drives nothing beats the simplicity of a HDD/SSD docking station. Docking stations however have evolved quite a bit over the years so dual bay models are not only the easiest way to access two 3.5/2.5" drives but also to clone one onto another and the CR-H236 by CineRAID which we have here with us today is one such model.

Today, I have one of Cirago’s newest external hard drive models for review. It is a 1.5TB plug and play drive that operates with USB 2.0. It is simplistic, effective and very easy to use.

Today I have the Cirago 250GB Portable USB Hard Drive for review. The CST5250 is one of the smallest 2.5” external hard drives I’ve come across, making it very portable, but portable doesn’t mean much if it doesn’t perform well. The CST5250 is also nicely made, it has a metal housing so it should be able to endure a bit of daily abuse and the metal should help keep it cooler as well.

Cirago has decided to further join the USB 3.0 revolution with the introduction of their new CST6000 portable hard drive. It’s a 250gb 2.5” drive that runs on the USB 3.0 interface so it should achieve some decent speeds for all your transfer needs. Cirago even included a nice carrying case as well for added protection while you’re transporting the drive.
