In reviewing the Samsung SSD SM825 Data Center Edition 400GB eMLC solid state drive, we understand that we have wandered off the beaten path of normal consumer reviews but there are some things in this SSD that will just grab your attention. Although it’s interesting to see that Samsung has chosen its own premium eMLC NAND flash memory in the SM825, we believe that it is the total write endurance that truly stands out in this enterprise class SSD.

ADATA's SP920 may be a rebadged M550, but the company sweetened it with an excellent accessory package and low price. Let's see what Chris has to say.

Our review today is going to concentrate on OCZs latest release of the OCZ Agility 3 SATA 3 240GB SSD and do somewhat of a comparison between this and other drives to include OCZs own Vertex 3 and Vertex 3 IOPS. The question fresh on everyone’s mind right now is definitely that of why would OCZ market another SSD with the same SandForce 2281 processor and similar configurations after just releasing the Vertex 3 MaxIOPS which was already very similar to the Vertex 3.

Today we are reviewing the Kingston HyperX Savage SSD 480Gb Standalone Kit, and once we are done with it, we are giving it away. In the office we only use SSDs for our main builds, gaming or general office rigs, we wouldn't consider using anything else. We use a number of HDDs in our Server, and one or two for hot back ups, but that's it. We are always interested in testing a new SSD that we have never used, so let's get on

Hauppauge has had a long tradition of delivering tuners and capture solutions to the home theater PC (HTPC) market so it is only appropriate that the legacy continues in the modern era with Hauppauge’s new CableCARD offering, the WinTV-DCR-2650. Offering two tuners, a USB connection to PCs and a tantalizing low retail price in the Digital Cable Tuner (DCT) market, the WinTV-DCR-2650 is poised to find its way into many HTPC enthusiasts’ hands.

It was just over a year ago that we reviewed the Super Talent 50GB RC8 ‘SandForce Driven’ USB 3 Flash Drive and made the call of it being the fastest flash drive on the planet. Our prediction then was that it would be a natural progression that, soon enough, we would be booting complete systems off of just this type of media. Imagine, simply plugging your flash drive in and accessing your desktop environment anywhere.
Our analysis today looks at the Super Talent USB3 Express RC8 100GB Flash Drive and, not only does it easily command bragging rights as the most powerful large capacity Flash Drive on the planet but also, the RC8 is one of the very few certified for the Microsoft Enterprise ‘Windows To Go’ Operating Environment.

With USB 3.0 becoming more of a standard these days many companies are coming out with new USB 3.0 flash drives. These new flash drives not only hold more data but they can transfer that data a hell of alot faster. No one wants to wait around for their files to transfer. ADATA has a new USB 3.0 flash drive that looks just as good as it performs. The DashDrive Elite UE700 has a brushed aluminum finish and features read and write speeds of up to 190 MB/s and 50 MB/s respectively. Let’s see what this drive is all about!

While we are awaiting next gen SSDs featuring SF-3700 controllers, we are still seeing some SF-2200 based SSDs released in the market. A few years ago, SandForce SSDs saturated the marketplace as they were the go to for most companies, however as of late, this has changed. A lot more options are out there for companies to choose from. Companies such as Marvell, Silicon Motion, and Phison all make very competitive controller and SSD design options. As a matter of fact, most of our recent reviews are of SSDs with controllers from each of these manufacturers. The last SandForce based SSD we reviewed was some time last year. Having said that, while the SF-2281 controller is going on four years old, it still competes well with these more modern controllers.
