As the slimmest external drive currently available, the ADATA HE720 takes portability and convenience to a whole new level while making no sacrifices in terms of performance. Looking from the outside, the 8.5mm thick ADATA HE720 is wrapped in a stylish, stainless steel shell that embodies a classic high quality look. On the performance side, USB 3.0 SuperSpeed interface allows the drive's full speeds to be utilized without interface bottlenecks, and powers the drive with a single connection.

As much as we would like to say that we wouldn’t have believed it if we hadn’t seen it, the truth is that this is one of those finds that has to be seen in operation first hand before anyone will believe it…but it was right there before our eyes. Today at Computex 2013 in Taipei, Taiwan, ADATA introduced their new line of enterprise SSDs. One SSD in particular, the ADATA SX2000, caught our eye right off. The sticker on the SX2000 depicts a capacity of 1600GB and, unlike just about every other notebook form factor SSD on the planet, the SX2000 has a PCIe 2.0 x4 interface rather than SATA. This SSD is the size of any typical drive you might see in a notebook.

ADATA has been in the business of developing memory and storage solutions for a dozen years and, in the process, has earned a reputation for producing high-quality devices. Its latest addition to the DashDrive lineup is the ADATA HV620 External Hard Drive. The HV620 is currently available in 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB capacities. In this review, Benchmark Reviews will take a closer look at the 2TB version of the ADATA DashDrive HV620 External Hard Drive and share the results of our testing. We will also take a closer look at its features, which include a scratch-proof surface, its glossy finish, and the raised lip around the perimeter of the device, which is meant to provide an added level of protection to the top of the HV620.

Generally speaking when we talk about external hard drives, there is not as much to talk about these days compared to a few years ago when they were all the rage. Flash storage has been getting more and more popular with many users, simply due to the fact that it is more compact, offers faster transfer speeds and more recently they are starting to offer higher capacities. They do have a slight downside however and this is the relative cost. On the lower end of the scale, any flash drive up to around 16GB in capacity is easy to get hold of – almost to the point where people are literally giving them away. When we start to move up the scale to drives that offer 32GB and above, the performance of the drive also starts to go up and in turn so does the cost.
