Media and enthusiast-servers are growing in popularity as more people realise the benefits within a home environment; after all numerous computer systems, tablets, televisions and phones can be utilised in accessing media files. Media servers allow people to have media stored in one area which can then be streamed to multiple devices via a router.

The MUKii TransImp TIP-330U3-BK USB 3.0 drive enclosure is easy to use and simplifies the task of turning any 3.5" SATA drive into a portable device. As with other USB 3.0 devices, it is fully backwards compatible to USB 2.0; so even if you have this enclosure before you have USB 3.0 in your computer, it will still function just fine with your current USB 2.0 connections.

ASUS is widely known for producing computer parts and peripherals, but rarely do they indulge in anything pre-made. Introduce the ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity TF700T, and now we have seemingly one of the first ASUS products in the mobile market. Frankly speaking, it makes sense for ASUS to dive into tablets. They already produce premium lines of business and gaming laptops, so tablets are the next logical direction. It certainly doesn’t become a question as to whether ASUS can make their name in the market, but rather how well.

ADATA isn't new to the SATA III market. The company already released the S501; a Marvell controlled SATA III drive with good wear capabilities. The S501 was a stopgap product between ADATA's successful S599 SandForce SF-1200 drive and the new S511 featuring SandForce's latest flagship, the SF-2281.

When we first tested the M4 drive, we found the performance to be decent but it lacked some of the performance of the similarly equipped Intel 510 Series drive. Crucial has released a new firmware update that claims to make significant performance enhancements. Exactly how much improvement will it elicit? Have a look at our test to see the performance now versus then.

Connecting multiple storage drives externally doesn’t work equally well on every connection type. If you were to use a USB 3 connection you would get the speed necessary, but your access times would suffer. If you were to connect it via eSATA you would have the access times, but shared bandwidth between the connected drives.

Have you ever felt that data stored on your external hard drives is unsafe due to the risk of dropping it, or getting it wet? Fear no more, ADATA has provided a solution in the form of their waterproof, shockproof HD710 portable HDD. Although it won’t protect your data if dropped from a rooftop or into a lake, you can rest assured that your data will be safe after minor drops and coffee spills. Following suit, ADATA has used an USB 3 interface to ensure speedy transfers with compatible machines. The HD710 is a little more expensive than other portable hard drives of the same storage capacity, it is therefore up to the consumer to decide whether or not the extra protection is worth the added cost. There are many demonstrations of the rigidity of this product on the web, in this article, Benchmark reviews will taker a closer look at the construction of this device as well as evaluate it’s performance.

We don’t find the opportunity to review as many SATA 2 SSDs these days which is why this particular report is a bit unique. We are reviewing the Silicon Power Velox V20 60GB SATA2 SSD and this solid state drive contains Hynix NAND flash memory, a brand that we have yet to see in other SSDs reviewed. The Silicon Power Website is also an interesting read as their web designer has created a ‘Review Site‘ atmosphere laying out the characteristics and test results of the Velox V20.
