Our report today will be an exclusive pre-release review of the upcoming Super Talent RAIDDrive upStream PCIe SSD. Although release dates and prices of the upStream have yet to be announced, it might be a safe bet that the upStream will be the second PCIe SSD to reach consumer hands , although it will also be configurable to enterprise need as well. Expected value, performance and ease of installation are three characteristics that might make this new PCIe SSD entry a success.

Hard drive enclosures can be play an important role in our computer centric lives, they’re great for taking stuff with you. You can get them in big and small sizes and they certainly come in all shapes and designs. Today for review I’ve got the latest enclosure from Thermaltake called the Max5G that uses USB 3.0 so you get the best performance. The Max5G also features two 80mm cooling fans and it looks good too.

The Desktop HDD.15 4TB is Seagate's official 4TB disk for use in desktop PCs. Unlike the 7200.14 disks, it runs at 5900 rpm, which means lower performance. The high data-density does make the Desktop HDD.15 4TB somewhat faster than most 5400/5900 rpm disks. Just like the 7200.14 disks, the Desktop HDD.15 contains 1TB platters, four of them in this case.

SD and MicroSD have the most popular type of memory card for some time. People use them for digital cameras, smartphones, tablets and other portable devices that require storage. There's a huge number of them on the market, and not all of them are equally fast. The specifications from the manufacturers won't be able to tell you, so Hardware.Info tested 49 of them to find out which ones are the fastest.

The SandForce SF-2281 controller has been powering many of the solid state drives we have reviewed in the past year or so. When these drives were first released 28% of the storage capacity was used for over-provisioning. So if you had a 128GB drive you would actually get 100GB of available space. Later this 28% was brought down to 7%, now SandForce has released a 0 provision that allows for 0% of the capacity to be used for background activities. Today we are taking a look at one of the first drives to use this 0 provision, the ADATA Premier Pro SP900.

I've always said that NAS units/servers would one day enter our homes in numbers (meaning most of us would own at least one) but it seems that we're getting there a lot faster than i had originally anticipated since not only many of you keep asking for such reviews but sales of low/mid-end NAS units/servers all over the globe increase day by day mostly by end users. Now because of that we will keep our focus on testing all the latest single/dual/quad bay NAS units/servers since such reviews are both what most of you ask and also because most low/mid-end models feature one, two or four HDD bays. So today in our lab we have the latest SMB oriented dual bay NAS unit/server by QNAP the TurboNAS TS-269L.
