The Samsung SM951 is one of the fastest SSD solutions out for those with a need for speed. It offers speeds that put most SSDs to shame and does it in a small M.2 2280 form factor. Last week we took a look at the 512GB variant that utilizes the AHCI host controller interface. To say the least, performance was very impressive. In that review we mentioned that the NMVe variant is starting to show up and that we would publish a review on one as soon as we could and well, today is the day. If you are a storage nut as I just happen to be, please get comfy and continue reading as we take a closer look at the NVMe variant of the Samsung SM951 M.2 PCIe SSD!

The Phison S10 controller recently gained quite a bit of popularity in the SSD market. 2 months ago, we have reviewed the Patriot Ignite 480GB with the same controller. How will the Kingston version -- with high endurance Toshiba A19 ICs and a super generous bundle -- compare?

We take a closer look at a speedy laptop 2.5inch hard drive from Western Digital. Spinning at 7200rpm and with 16mb cache onboard it promises to be quite speedy. While not very cheap it does beat new SSD devices by a large margin, 320Gb of fast compact storage for your laptop? Let us put it to the test.

TechwareLabs takes a look at the ARAID 2200-GP which promises to be the next best friend of small businesses and serious home computing. The 2200-GP packs hardware RAID 1 into a simple plug and play package that fits into two 5.25" bays. We show you why the 2200-GP is a device no small business should be without considering its low price, excellent performance, and no non-sense backup. Find out if our test system survives us yanking a drive out in real time and then shoving it back in. Does the 2200-GP crash or continue without missing a beat?

There are a multitude of aging notebooks and laptops out there, such as my IBM ThinkPad T40, that are incapable of being upgraded to take advantage of the latest SATA hardware. With a 1.5GHz Pentium M processor and 1GB of memory, the old T40 has system specs similar to the more modern netbooks that have become increasingly popular of late. But with a hard drive that's five years old and only 60GB in size, the T40 gets quickly left behind in the performance department, as it chugs along with slow read/write speeds and high access times. Can installing a current, leading-edge SSD sporting the old PATA interface breathe new life into this 5-year-old paperweight? Join me as I aim to find out!
