Our report today will examine the Memoright MS-701 mSATA SSD. The MS-701 is the first of its kind as it is the only SATA 3 SandForce Driven mSATA SSD in existence at the 240GB capacity point. Even better news is the fact that Memoright, a company that has remained loyal to enterprise and business sales traditionally, has set up shop in the ‘good ole’ USA and the MS-701 will be available through the consumer channel soon enough. Stay tuned for our update on this!

The Crucial M4 solid state drive was one of the most popular and most successful solid state drives of 2011. Much of that success can be attributed to Crucial’s reputation for reliable, quality-made products and because they are one of the largest memory producers out there. When the M4 first came out it only had a rated read speed of 415MB/s, which is pretty far off from what we’ve seen from other solid state drives in 2011. Towards the end of 2011 Crucial released a firmware upgrade that boosted the rated speeds to 500MB/s read and 260MB/s write. A nice improvement! So today we have the M4 in our labs and we will be taking it through the paces.

Today we are going to be reporting on the Plextor M3P 256GB SATA 3 SSD. Pairing Marvell’s venerable 88SS9174 controller with the latest Toshiba 24nm Toggle Mode NAND, the Pro is not much different from the Plextor M3 SSD that we reviewed a short time ago. Aside from the new thinner 7mm chassis, the only difference you’ll find between the regular M3 Standard and the M3 Pro is the custom Plextor firmware being employed. That might just be enough to put it over the top.

Kingston is fully embracing SandForce and the most impressive controller at this time is getting the top to bottom treatment.

We are witnessing an increasing number of applications of the Thunderbolt technology. After Apple, Promise and LaCie, now Western Digital is launching a product that takes advantage of this lightning fast connection technology in the shape of the WD My Book Thunderbolt Duo. We tested the 4TB version of WD's new external hard drive.

To most people there are only 2 things that really matter when out to get a brand new USB flash drive, price and performance (and both if possible). However there are quite a few people out there who place size above all else (that's mostly what matter for use with media players and car A/V systems) and so most USB flash drives currently in the market will simply not do. Kingston is well aware of the existence of this target group and so they just recently launched their latest DataTraveler Micro USB 2.0 Flash drive which as the name clearly states is one of the smallest USB flash drives in the market today.

The Kingston V+ 200 has shown good performance overall. It also comes with a great packaging and a three year warranty, but most importantly with a low price. If you are looking for an SSD that will give life to your laptop or your desktop PC without spending a lot of money, then this drive is one to look at very closely

This review is of the 6805TQ RAID adapter which has the newest feature of FAST maxCache 2.0 which uses an SSD to cache out the data that in order for the data to be Written/Read to the RAID volume at a must fast speed than just HDD heads can seek to Read/Write the data.

Solid State drives are now a common storage option among the population, due to their now affordable prices, which instantly made them go mainstream. However single unit SSD’s are still storage devices they often do not attract a lot of users because they don’t offer a high amount of storage capacity without that price tag jumping to infinity. This is where SSD caching drives really come into their own in that in-between market.
