I've always liked the Turbo series from HIS. It's not my favorite series from the company, with me personally being a larger fan of the iCooler series, but more importantly the iCooler Turbo series which carries the benefits of an upgraded cooler and benefits of that pre-overclock.

Powercolor have been one of the more active AMD partners in recent months, releasing many modified cards with custom cooling solutions for all sectors of the market. Today we are looking at their latest HD6870 PCS++ which is supplied with a proprietary cooler and substantial ‘out of the box’ overclocks.

The HD 5830 has seen a fairly lackluster introduction into the lineup and has received mixed reviews. HIS has taken the HD 5830 and pumped it up with the iCooler V Turbo package. The HIS HD 5830 iCooler V Turbo 1GB offers good performance out of the box with a factory overclock and has a full complement of accessories to make it even more attractive.

The HIS 7850 Fan 2GB is another solid offering from HIS. It may not be the iCooler version, but it still maintains quiet operation and keeps temperatures cool. The 7850 Fan offers solid performance to match up with a full feature set that includes support for up to four monitors, PCI-e 3.0 and 2GB of GDDR5. The icing on the cake is solid overclocking room and performance gains.

The GPU landscape will be changing soon which means that current generation parts have received a discount to make them more attractive so there may well never have been a better time to consider something like a GTX 680, so today we have one of the latest designs for review. This years video card industry has brought a plethora of upgrades to the market, technologies such as multi-monitor solutions and 3D are some of the tops that come to mind. The video card company that takes it a step further and comes up with their own niche, creates technologies that no other manufacturer has are the ones that going to succeed. Sapphire has proven themselves one of these innovative manufacturers time and time again, first with vapor-X cooling, next making Eyefinity out of the box solutions with their FleX technology.

This industry, like every other industry loves drama. As if we didn't create enough this week with our slew of Ivy Bridge content that saw us test the Intel Core i5 3570K and Intel Core i7 3770K . If that wasn't enough we checked out the latest G.Skill RAM and achieved some massive overclocking performance. To finally round it all off we then took the time to overclock both processors to see how that went.
Since NVIDIA sent us nothing on the GTX 680 codenamed "Kepler" - no press deck, no whitepaper, no conference call information, no sample, no NDA date - absolutely nothing - we're kind of winging it here. Something we don't really like to do. But when I woke up this morning again with no information from NVIDIA, I was just over it and decided to knock this review over straight away as clearly we weren't going to hear anything from them. How is that for professionalism? (Ed: Shocking!)
