At the launch of any new GPU we always try to make an effort to put a reference based video card up for testing as it's the best model to set a baseline for what we're dealing with when it comes to a new model. At the same time, though, we be fair and in a first come first serve basis the XFX HD 7950 Black Edition Double Dissipation 3GB was the first to arrive at our labs and not only did it carry with itself an aftermarket cooler, but also an out of the box overclock.
Today, though, we take a step back and look at a Radeon HD 7950 from HIS that carries with it what should be the reference cooler along with the standard reference clocks. Of course before we get into the performance side of things there are a few other areas we need to look at.

We check out the pre-overclocked HD 7850 2GB from Sapphire and see how it performs today.

Today we take a first look at the new single slot HD7850 graphics card from AFOX. The company claim this is the ‘world’s most powerful single slot graphics card’ and our review will highlight Crossfire performance. If you are building a space restricted media center but don’t want to compromise when gaming, are these the products you should be shortlisting?

The AMD Radeon HD 7870 has proven itself to be one of the best mainstream graphics cards on the market. Today we look at the XFX Radeon HD 7870 Black Edition that comes with the companies Dual Dissipation GPU cooler and a factory overclock of 1050 MHz on the core and 1250 MHz on the memory. Read on to see how the XFX Radeon HD 7870 Black Edition performs on our Intel Core i5 2500K test system!

Like the other HD 7000 series cards we've looked at, XFX was one of the first samples to arrive and for that reason we'll be checking out their offering first. Following along with the "Black Edition" theme that we've been seeing from them, this one goes a step further with the "Black Edition S Super Overclocked" naming scheme.
What makes it so super overclocked? Well we don't know yet, but we'll find out soon enough. Before we do that, though, there are a few things we need to do. First we want to see what's going on with the package, XFX hasn't done too bad here lately and we hope moving down to a lower price bracket card doesn't impact the bundle too much.

One thing that really sets the ASUS Direct CU II 7970 card apart is its ability to be connected directly to a supported ASUS motherboard and then control all elements of the cards voltage directly through the motherboard’s BIOS, which helps insure a much more stable and direct control set than your average VGA card. Professional overclockers, you know those crazy fools that use LN2, will be very pleased with their ability to custom control the GPU and its voltage options. GPU Tweak’s latest version has many of the previous bugs fixed and seemed to be working fine now and can be a solid tool for monitoring, changing fan speeds, adjusting voltage and core and memory speeds all from the Windows 7 environment.

In this review we will be looking at the Palit GTS 250 with 1GB of GDDR3 RAM. Looking at the GTS 250 brings up the question of just how new is this card? Well it is more or less a GeForce 9800GTX+ with a bigger frame buffer by adding 1GB of GDDR3 RAM and comes with a little bit better clock speeds.

In November AMD released their reference R9 290 and while we were impressed with the frame rate performance we certainly didn’t find it fun dealing with the noisy, ill performing reference cooler. It has been some time coming, but today we look at the first custom cooled, overclocked card from partner Sapphire. It features their tasty Tri X cooler.
Is this the card you need in your new system build as we head into 2014?

The GeForce GTX 460, which is being released today, is the latest DirectX 11-based graphics chip from NVIDIA. Video cards based on this new GPU will be available between USD 200 (768 MB version) and USD 229 (1 GB version), making them the most affordable DirectX 11 video cards based on an NVIDIA solution. With recent price cuts conducted by AMD/ATI, this new graphics processor competes directly with Radeon HD 5830. Let's see how this factory-overclocked version from MSI dubbed N460GTX Cyclone 768D5/OC fared in our tests.
