Today we shall review as many as five low and mid-end graphics cards: four based on NVIDIA GPUs and one on an AMD Radeon GPU. All five have custom design and coolers, so let's see if this provides any benefits.
So last week we had our first peak at the kind of new R9 380. Well it just so happens that card was only a 2GB model. Lucky for us PowerColor sent over their PCS+ R9 380 and it has a 4GB frame buffer. So today I’m going to check out the card from PowerColor and see what they have going on and along with that we can see if having the additional frame buffer is worth it in our benchmark suite. With these cards not exactly being focused towards higher resolution gameplay I’m not sure if we will see too much at 1080p but given the 1440p numbers we saw before I bet we see some improvement there!
Sapphire has just added a new graphics card to their R9 290X lineup. It is the R9 290X Vapor-X Tri-X OC graphics card. The thing that sets this card apart from their other R9 290X cards is that it features vapor-chamber technology to improve cooling even more than than their current cards and this card features a factory overclock on both the GPU and the memory. The card will have a GPU frequency of 1080 MHz (80 MHz over reference) and the memory will be running at speeds of 5.64 GHz (effective). Although I have been in Canada since I was one and half years old, I have always been particularly proud of my Hong Kong heritage. Okay, I will be realistic here. He has a PhD in Physics, yet he knows everything from criminal psychology to electrical engineering. He has received numerous prestigious awards for his research, yet he is always modest. He comes from an upper class family, yet he treats everyone equally. And the best part of it all? He is very good looking, yet he is only interested in one girl from the beginning to the end; with the girl being the average type everyone can relate to. How can such an ideal man exist in this world? Well, other than to appeal to all the female audience members, of course he doesn't exist. But before you start laughing at all the girls and their wonderful fantasies, I think everyone likes to dream about stuff that combines the best of every world. For example, as a silent PC enthusiast, but a PC enthusiast nonetheless, I am always after a computer that is not only matchless in performance, but also unparalleled in silence. And with any performance computer, the video card is an absolutely crucial component. So to put some substance into our review today, is there such thing as a graphics card that has all the processing power, emits minimal amount of noise, and still does not overheat? Gigabyte GTX 660 OC Video Card Review In this review we will be looking at the new video card from Gigabyte called the GV-660OC-2GD. This is a GTX 660 [Non-Ti] based graphics card using the entirely new GK106 GPU.
The GTX 460 series has been nVidia’s finest card series in the current generation and the popularity is proving to help generate a good amount of revenue for the guys in green. This time we got two GeForce GTX 560 Ti products for review. One is made by KFA2, the other, by Gigabyte. Both solutions are custom-made, and the Gigabyte's card is also extremely factory-overclocked, so it should be very fast.
NVidia introduced SLI as a scalable way to increase video performance and it does so by adding more GPUs to an existing system. Depending on the GPU you can link up to four of them together with the sweet spot resting somewhere between two and three.
