The MSI N760 HAWK is hands down the fastest NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 video card that we have yet to test. MSI designed this card from the ground up for overclockers and it looks like they did it right. Two days ago AMD allowed us to review, in a limited capacity, their new R9 280X. Today the review restrictions are released so we can now compare different versions of the card and that starts with Gigabytes R9 280X Windforce 3X model in its factory overclocked form. We will be comparing it to the two closest NVIDIA models (pricing wise) in the form of the GTX 760 and 770 (both OC models) as well as the part the 280X replaces, the 7970 GHZ. Added in is another 280X OC model and we are testing on the latest i7-4960X CPU, Windows 8.1 and games such as Battlefield 4, F1 2013 and Total War: Rome 2.
The new AMD Radeon R7 and R9 series video cards went on sale this morning and a number of our readers have asked if they can enable AMD CrossFireX technology with their current AMD Radeon HD 7000 series card with them. Sapphire Technologies is based out of Hong Kong founded in 2001 and produces graphics cards for PC’s and workstations, motherboards, and more. Further this is the largest supplier of ATI based GPU’s. When Nvidia launched the GTX 780 it was an extremely impressive card, and frankly it still is. Even so AMD did come out swinging with the new R9 290X and to counter that Nvidia lowered the pricing of the GTX 780 and GTX 770. Now to go along with that they are filling in the price gap they created with the lower prices with a new product, the GTX 780 Ti. Today I have the chance to check out the GTX 780 Ti and see what it is all about. I expected the GTX 780 Ti to just be a higher clocked GTX 780, but I was pleasantly surprised, read on to find out what’s different.
