AMD's Radeon HD 7730 is a video card model we haven't heard a lot about. Today we find out if there's a reason for that.

The MSI GTX 780 Lightning graphics card is the newest offering, targeted at achieving the highest overclocks possible. The MSI GTX 780 Lightning offers a graphics card with the GK110 GPU at its core, with MSI's TriFrozr Thermal design. The TriFrozr design offers a cooling solution with three PWM fans that can be independently controlled. The architecture also includes an all-digital PWM control and triple level signals to show load using different colors. The overclocking features don't stop there. Two separate BIOS chips are present on the 10 layer PCB. One is tuned for gaming performance out of the box, while the other is specifically tuned and unlocked for LN2 overclocking. In addition the card has 16 GPU phases of power and three memory phases, and the ability to add a "GPU Reactor" behind the GPU for more overclocking stability. The GPU reactor is designed to offer up to 300% more power capacity and to stabilize power noise. The Lightning card doesn't skimp on quality either utilizing MSI's Military class 4 components, consisting of DrMOS 4, CopperMOS, Hi-c CAP, Super Ferrite Core, and Dark Solid Caps.

As good as the GTX 780 is, it was getting a little boring. Gaming gets a bit stale in the summer but now we are starting to see new games on the horizon and three hit this week with the launch of Splinter Cell Blacklist, Saints Row IV and Final Fantasys new MMO, A Realm Reborn. So today we will take a look at Gigabytes GTX 780 Overclock and while we are at it compare to a standard 780 as well as the fastest single GPU card AMD have to offer; finding out how each performs in those new titles as well as the likes of Crysis 3 and Battlefield 3.

The ASUS GTX 670 is a powerhouse in a small package. At just 6.7 inches it can easily it into the majority of small form factor cases, yet it has the power to run the most demanding games on the market such as Crysis 3 and Metro Last Light.

Not that long ago Club3D made a very bold and striking decision to exclusively work with AMD graphics processing units only, leaving Nvidia on the sidelines. Since then we have seen a flurry of activity from Club3D to produce a vast range of SKUs of HD 7000 series card to cater for every price point for every AMD GPU, notably with the release of their brand new ’13 series.
Today we are looking at one of their upper-range HD 7790 graphics cards, or more specifically the HD 7790 royalKing from their Poker Series. Like the majority of Club3D graphics cards the HD 7790 royalKing we have here today uses their CoolStream cooling solution to keep things running cool and quiet without breaking the bank. The Club 3D HD 7790 royalKing comes with factory overclocks out of the box, on the GPU only, which is overclocked 7.5% to 1075MHz while the memory runs at a stock speed of 6GHz. Other than that the unit is kind-of normal although the design in my opinion is one of the nicest as the unit uses a black PCB, black cooling shroud and is very compact which is ideal for such a mid-range GPU.

AMD’s HD 7790 graphics emerged on the scene roughly at the same time as Nvidia’s GTX 650 Ti Boost graphics card. The AMD HD 7790 was released to fill that rather large performance void left between the HD 7850 and HD 7770 using a specially designed GPU called Bonaire. The Gigabyte graphics card that we have here today represents the HD 7790 pushed to the best it can offer. We have Gigabyte’s 2GB variant of the HD 7790 with the WindForce cooling solution and a factory overclock, more specifically we have the GV-R7790OC-2GB Revision 1.1 graphics card.
We say its the “best that the HD 7790 can offer” because Gigabyte have maxed out supported GDDR5 memory by adding 2GB and they have put a rather beefy dual 100mm fan WindForce cooling solution on it. Furthermore, Gigabyte have taken the stock clock of 1GHz and raised that by 7.5% to 1075MHz. The 2GB of GDDR5 over the 128bit interface runs at the default 6GHz effective memory speed, so no overclocking there. Despite the overclock Gigabyte have recommended just a 450W power supply as a minimum for this unit while AMD recommends 500W.
In terms of features this card packs most of AMD’s high end features such as Direct X 11.1 support, GCN architecture, AMD Eyefinity support (up to six displays supported), AMD App Acceleration, AMD HD3D technology, AMD CrossFire (max 2 way), AMD PowerPlay, AMD PowerTune and AMD ZeroCore. The main stand-out features are Eyefinity and HD3D support on such a budget GPU.

Today we are taking a look at the Sapphire HD 7730 1GB GDDR5. With 384 stream processors, an 800 MHz core clock, 1GB of GDDR5 memory at 1125 MHz, and a dual slot cooler this card packs a bigger punch than your standard entry-level GPU.

Nvidia’s GTX 770 was released as the successor to the GTX 670 when Nvidia announced the GTX 700 series quite some time ago. In essence the GTX 770 is a GTX 680 on steroids and so it isn’t really new as such. What is new is that it has a market price of $400 USD compared to the GTX 680 which has a market price of $420 USD. Of course it is cheaper and performs better as you’d expect from a card that makes the generational advancement. The unique aspect of the GTX 770 comes from its familiarity. Most AIB vendors have already worked with the GK104 GPU when it was the GTX 680 and know exactly how to get the best out of it – which can only be good for consumers.
Today we are looking at MSI’s high end GTX 770 solution that comes equipped with their popular and most recent version of the Twin Frozr VGA cooler. This card is also part of MSI’s Gaming Series so is no longer just standalone Twin Frozr. MSI has a few series that use the Twin Frozr cooler including the Hawk, Gaming, Lightning and the Power Edition cards.Unlike the MSI GTX 760 Twin Frozr Gaming OC graphics card, this one we have here today boasts a slightly chunkier heatsink design with an extra 6mm heat pipe to cope with the higher TDP of the GTX 770 compared to the GTX 760. I have already been impressed by MSI’s newest Twin Frozr VGA cooler on so many graphics cards so hopefully today we will be impressed with this latest MSI card.
