Just as soon as I thought all of the video card introductions from the Nvidia 700 series cards were over Asus tossed out another one. This time it was something a little special, the Striker. The Striker is a GTX 760 but they went a little above and beyond from their standard cards. This is actually a little bit of an unusual launch, typically special cards are limited to the highest end GPUs (like this Mars and Poseidon models), but they did something special with that GPU that more people can afford. Now lets dig in and see how the Striker holds up against the competition.

Today we look at the latest graphics card from ASUS, the GTX 760 MARS. This solution comprises two GTX760's in an SLi configuration, all on a single PCB. ASUS have incorporated a hefty DIGI+VRM configuration featuring 12 phase power. They are promoting this card to go head to head against the flagship GTX Titan and GTX780Ti. So today we find out if it can!

The Nvidia GTX 750 Ti is a great graphics card but the reference design that we reviewed was lacking a little something. I am hoping that today ASUS can bring some improvements to the table with the ASUS GTX 750 Ti OC graphics card we are looking at. With this graphics card ASUS are using their “Direct CU II style design”, however, this is not actually a Direct CU II product. This is because ASUS have not chosen to use any heat pipes at all – that’s right, not heat pipes. We’re hoping that this won’t affect cooling performance too much but we’ll have to wait until the test results before that can be determined. ASUS have added a pair of their fans which they claim provide twice the airflow and a three times reduction in noise over the reference design.

After a long and turbulent few months filled withmuch speculation and deliberate misinformation, we finally have NVIDIA'sbelated response to the the 28nm AMD Southern Islands GPUs - the GeforceGTX 680 (current name, among former identities). In the first of manyKeplers that we will be evaluating, we take a look at ASUS's referenceoffering and see if its indeed a worthy contender (or pretender) to thereigning king of the hill Radeon HD 7970. Overclocked benchmarks alsoincluded!

Whilst there have been a few new cards come to the market over the last month or so from both NVIDIA and AMD, there's always the time available in each manufacturers R&D departments for them to tweak, tune and create new products to bring to market. Normally these come in the form of overclocked cards or those with slightly better coolers, but its very rare to see the release of a card that has been taken back to the drawing board a little more than usual.
In the current climate, there is a growing market for smaller, more compact systems, but at the same time ones that have power - lots of it. Consequently, cases like Bitfenix' Prodigy have become highly sought after due to their small frame, yet high level of flexibility when it comes to fitting large graphics cards, in fact they'll take any dual slot card that can be thrown at them, still with room to spare. This however pushes slightly smaller and more compact case out of the market, due to their limiting compatibility with longer cards and thus this leads to a lower spec card having to be used as generally they are smaller then their bigger and more powerful brothers.
With compact cases and limited graphics options available, lets bring forward Asus' latest weapon to the market in the form of the GTX 670 DirectCU Mini. There's no guessing required as to what the Mini part of the name means, essentially Asus have chopped or squashed the card, which ever way you prefer to look at it and the result of their efforts is a GTX 670 that packs more punch reference card with its overclock, but is no longer than some entry level cards, measuring a mere 17cm in length - that's 7.3cm shorter than NVIDIA's reference GTX 670 designs.
But as you would expect, packing more power into a smaller space poses a nightmare for the cooling department and as a result, Asus have developed a whole new fan design which they've called CoolTech. This new fan comprises of two different types of fan, but in a single package, namely the blower and axial fans that are used on graphics cards. This new style of fan generates a far greater cooling effect than a traditional axial fan and also gives a far wider reach than that of a blower fan, thus giving a greater cooling potential.

The ASUS GTX 670 is a powerhouse in a small package. At just 6.7 inches it can easily it into the majority of small form factor cases, yet it has the power to run the most demanding games on the market such as Crysis 3 and Metro Last Light.

Today we are looking at a new video card from ASUS – The GTX 670 Direct CU Mini. This is a compact graphics card that should be powerful enough to play the latest Direct X 11 games on a 1080p monitor. This cute little card only measures 170mm and requires a single power connector. We will find out how it handles and whether it is worth the considerable asking price.

In the world of Small Form Factor builds you are always compromising. You either have to give up some performance for a smaller size or give up some size to get the performance you are looking for. Recently though, this trend has been starting to change. My last LAN build was easy to carry around while having (at the time) the second fastest GPU from Nvidia and a high end CPU. Of course because of my GPU I couldn’t go any smaller. Asus has a new GPU that is going to change that. Their new GTX 670 Direct CU Mini is the same length of a MiniITX motherboard. With that size, my LAN rig is going to need a complete rebuild.. To go smaller!
