AMD macht es in diesem Jahr besonders spannend und schickt innerhalb von knapp vier Wochen seinen dritten Grafikprozessor an den Start. Der neueste DX11-Spross der Firma trägt den Namen ATi Radeon HD 5570 und ordnet sich dementsprechend zwischen ATi Radeon HD 5670 und ATi Radeon HD 5450 ein. Wir haben AMDs Referenzkarte getestet und mit NVIDIAs GeForce GT 220 und GT 240 verglichen.
Once again we can state that all of these cards are quite performing. The reviewed products demonstrated excellent results for their price, as well as a great potential for multi-monitor configurations.
The ASUS EAH5770 CuCore/2DI/1GD5/A videocard might just hit that wonderful sweet spot where price and performance balance perfectly. The card comes packing 1GB of GDDR5 RAM and with a GPU ticking away at 850MHz. In terms of performance, the Radeon HD 5770 GPU slots in just below ATI's flagship Radeon HD 5870 and 5850 chips, but above the mainstream Radeon HD 5670. With the GTX 460 just around the corner it's great to see that companies are still able to put some time aside to fix some of the earlier issues we have had with the GTX 470 and GTX 480. The good news is that it doesn't seem like companies are going to sleep once they've finished with the GTX 470 with most saying that they're already working on the GTX 480 and while most have said we won't see this model pre-Computex, we've got our fingers crossed that we'll see some early revisions of the models there.
I mentioned the other week that we're doing a lot of these lately. That's due to the release of so many new models and then with upgraded coolers on those models. I'm sure it's going to die down a little as time goes on and NVIDIA release lower end models which we won't overclock, but for now we've got the GTX 465 which we've just looked at in our first full review.
If you haven't heard already, the 257.15 Beta ForceWare driver set from NVIDIA accidently had the ability for ATI users to again use an NVIDIA card as a second to do PhysX. The whole ordeal created a bit of drama around the web; as soon as it was discovered by NVIDIA they yanked the driver and put another one up that disabled the ability.
