The RADEON HD 5770 1GB GDDR5 video card from XFX comes bundled with one of the few games that support the newest DirectX11, Aliens vs Predator. The card also comes with enough documentation so anyone could install the video card in their computer and start playing right away. The board's performance approaches that of last generation high end HD 4890 card and offers enough FPS in almost all older and recent games, even with higher quality settings.

Today the Radeon 6970 and 6950 hit the market and we have XFX branded models on our test bench. We will be putting the 6900 series through a selection of real world gaming, CPU computing and stereoscopic 3D tests against the GTX 580 and 570 to see where these new products fit in the market. Added to that are 2-way and 3-way CrossFire testing and a look at the power, noise and thermal performance of the cards to ensure a thorough evaluation of the latest and greatest from AMD.

In this article we have decided to take a look at how one of the more desirable 5770s on the market performs in 5 of the most recent games (Black Ops, Fallout New Vegas, Medal of Honor, Civilization V and F1 2010). Last week I had the chance to check out our first R9 390 with the Sapphire Nitro. Well today we get to take a look at what XFX has to offer. This gives us a great chance to compare the cards against each other along with all of the cards previous tested. This helps put more perspective on their individual performance to find out what card is best for your specific build. So today I’m going to run the XFX R9 390 Double Dissipation Core Edition through all of our in-game, compute, and synthetic performance tests as well as the more specific per card tests like noise and cooling performance. In the past the XFX cards have performed well, but it might have its hand full with the triple fan cooler on the Sapphire.

AMD's R9 280X was released a couple of weeks ago and for anyone who has followed AMD graphics cards since 2011 the R9 280X is a very familiar card - in effect it is just a HD 7970 rebranded with a reduced price. On launch day we had a review of the R9 280X to bring you and today we've got another R9 280X to look at, this time courtesy of XFX. The XFX R9 280X uses XFX's new Double Dissipation cooling solution with dual 100mm fans but it is also a Black Edition OC card which means the default clock has been raised from 1000MHz on the core to 1100MHz and from 1500/6000MHz to 1650/6600MHz on the memory. The new cooling solution opts for a sleek black aesthetic which contrasts with the sharp silver design of previous Double Dissipation coolers from XFX.

AMD launched their new flagship HD7970 graphics card in December, and we have been extremely impressed with the solution as it has claimed the top performance slot … knocking the GTX580 from the throne. Today AMD have lifted the NDA on partner cards and we have several reviews for your enjoyment. We had expected that there would be no partner cards with custom cooling solutions at this early stage, but XFX have surprised us by sending a ‘Double Dissipation’ model with proprietary dual fan cooler. Excited? you should be.
