As it turns out, AMD's graphics plans seem to have taken an unexpected turn. Rather than seeing 8000 series GPUs, we are hearing from AMD that their existing line of 7000 series GPUs are stable through 2013. AMD has ensured consumers that this does not mean they won't be releasing any new GPUs in 2013 and the first proof we have of that is the release of Radeon HD 7790. Manufacturing partners are now releasing their versions of the Radeon HD 7790 and Benchmark Reviews has received a sample of the XFX Radeon HD R7790 video card for testing. This article is dedicated discovering what XFX has done with the latest Radeon HD 7000 series GPU, the 7790...

XFX Radeon HD 7970 Black Edition is based on the fastest GPU from AMD, the Radeon HD

AMD have been working to extend their graphics reach into emerging markets, primarily through the use of integrated GPUs. This hasn’t slowed their pursuit in the discrete graphics market, where the AMD Radeon series continues to battle for supremacy in some of the most demanding DirectX 11 video games available on PC. The AMD Radeon HD 7950 is an example of this effort, employing 28 Compute Units (1792 Stream Processors) with 3GB GDDR5 memory. In this article Benchmark Reviews tests the custom-designed XFX Radeon HD 7950 Double-Dissipation Black Edition video card, model FX-795A-TDFC, using several highly-demanding DX11 video games such as Metro: Last Light, Batman: Arkham City, and Battlefield 3.

Like the HD 6950, we hope today that the AMD Radeon HD 7950 comes in at that same strong price point and performance level that makes it such an attractive option for people who want some serious GPU power, but don't want to quite spend the money that's associated with buying the highest end single GPU offering.
Today is of course all about the HD 7950 and the particular one is the brand new Black Edition Double Dissipation model from XFX. This isn't the first time we've see the Black Edition Double D name as we saw XFX launch the HD 7970 Black Edition Double Dissipation 3GB on January 9th.

XFX is a well known for their factory overclocked products. In this review we look at
their XFX Radeon HD 7870 Black Edition OC Edition. Let us see how it performs with the
extra performance and if we can overclock it even more.

The Black Edition series from XFX has served us extremely well since the launch of the new HD 7000 series this year. We saw XFX come out strong with the HD 7970 version which was then followed up with the HD 7950 version.
After that we saw the HD 7770 get the same treatment, but unfortunately the HD 7770 on a whole hasn't been our favorite model due to the current price point it hits at. Today it's time to check out the HD 7870 version of the Black Edition card and see how it goes.
