L'occasion d'analyser plus en détail le BIOS, le bundle, l'offre logicielle, ainsi que les performances de ce modèle qui se veut compact, mais néanmoins alléchant. Il est en effet vendu à moins de 100 €, et se destine aux processeurs sur socket LGA 1156.
Lors de notre dossier consacré à l'architecture Sandy Bridge, nous avions déploré de ne pouvoir tester les performances des IGP intégrés puisque nous n'avions pu nous procurer une carte mère à base de chipset H67, indispensable pour utiliser ce dernier. Ce point à présent réglé, nous avons décidé d'évaluer les performances en jeu des HD 2000 et 3000 sur un panel de 6 jeux DX9/10 et ce en les confrontant à la précédente génération d'IGP Intel, mais aussi face aux HD 4250/4290 intégrés dans les Northbridge 885G/890GX des plateformes AM3 d'AMD. Cerise sur le gâteau, nous avons réussi à nous procurer un E350 qui est la première déclinaison c ommerciale du projet Fusion afin de jauger de son niveau de performance actuel face à l'armada bureautique d'Intel. Nachdem ein Test über ein Mainboard schon etwas länger her ist, freuen wir uns über ein High End Mainboard der Firma Gigabyte. Das Mainboard wurde uns extra für die zweite LDK Session von der Firma Gigabyte zur Verfügung gestellt. Deshalb freut es uns sehr, dass ein Mainboard das zurzeit für einen Preis von etwas über 430 Euro liegt, unter LN2 getestet werden konnte.
Das Kontron KTUS15 ist ein schon lang erwartetes Mini-ITX Mainboard, auf Basis des Intel ATOM Prozessors. Allerdings kommt hier nicht etwa der Diamondville (Atom 230) wie beim Intel D945GCLF zum Einsatz, sondern der für Embedded- bzw. Ultra-Mobile Anwendungen gedachte Atom der Z5xx Serie (Silverthorne). Damit sollte das Kontron KTUS15 besonders stromsparend sein, doch es bietet noch viele weitere interessante Features, auf welche in diesem Testbericht eingegangen wird.
Insgesamt ist das Kontron KTUS15 in vier verschiedenen Varianten erhältlich. Die verschiedenen Modell unterscheiden sich einerseits in der verbauten CPU und andererseits in der Ausstattung. In dem vorliegendem Test wird ausführlich auf das KTUS15/mITX 1,6 GHz Plus eingegangen, welches das Top-Modell der Reihe darstellt.

Following the trend of companies expanding with new series, today we're looking at the new Genesis kit from Kingston which is part of the popular HyperX series we know and love. While named Genesis, the term we've been throwing around more is HyperX Grey and that's of course due to the color of the heat spreader that's present.
