Like every mITX board I see shown on our news page, when I saw the ASUS F1A75-I Deluxe I instantly said to myself "It must be mine". I say it every time, I love the mITX format, but there's just something about an ASUS version of boards. It just tends to stand out more than its competitors.

AMD caused quite a stir when they released the Fusion set of APU's as it gave rival competition to Intel but with support for DirectX 11. Motherboard manufacturers were keen to jump on board producing Mini-ITX based boards around the E-350 APU. Shortly after the E-350 saga, AMD released the next in the APU line-up and this included the A8-3850, shortly followed by the slightly lower spec A6-3650 which differed by giving users a fully fledged socket, opposed to an all-in-one soldered APU like the E-350 had. This gave users a bit more flexibility in terms of upgrading the APU as and when they wanted or needed to.

With the launch of every new motherboard platform, we expect to see a number of different designs from the major motherboard manufacturers. ASU, of course, was ready for the AMD Lynx platform launch with their own set of A55 and A75 socket FM1 motherboards. Here at Benchmark Reviews we used the ASUS F1A75-M Pro motherboard to test the new platform and the all new AMD desktop APU, the A8-3850. In this article, Benchmark Reviews is exploring the motherboard itself, bringing you all the details of the ASUS F1A75-M Pro socket FM1 motherboard.

You can't go on the internet these days without seeing some information on Intel, AMD and their latest products. With Intel it's all about Sandy Bridge and their upcoming offering of Ivy Bridge, whilst AMD has potential fantastic products in the pipeline but are still hot on releasing slightly "cut-down" versions if you will.
We saw the initial release of AMD Fusion a few months back which saw the pure potential behind AMD's latest technology of fusing a CPU and GPU together to form an APU. Whilst this was fine for light usage in terms of HTPC and server systems, it wasn't aimed at a mainstream market. Enter Llano!
Llano is a new range of products from AMD and their partners which harnesses the technology saw in the original Fusion range but features a higher clock speed and higher range built-in graphics. Due to this it's market is slightly different and whilst being perfect for HTPC usage, users should be able to experience the technology on a mainstream level with the inclusion of gaming.
Today sees us putting the F1A75-M Pro motherboard from Asus through its paces to see what performance can be unlocked from these new APU's and what is on offer in terms of features from this leading motherboard manufacturer.
