Here we take a look at the new ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 motherboard that has a number of improvements and upgrades compared to the previous version, such as a new DIGI + Power Controller that would make power controls more precise and thereby also help stability during an overclock. In addition, it also got an update of RAM technology as also to ensure better stability when overclocking.

With AMD’s fourth generation of AMD APUs, Kaveri, just around the corner it couldn’t be a better time to look at a brand spanking new FM2+ motherboard from ASUS. Today we have the ASUS A88X PRO motherboard on the test bench and this high-end motherboard will make the perfect home for any Kaveri based system. Of course you can use Trinity or Richland APUs too as the FM2+ socket is backwards compatible with FM2 APUs, but the main reason these motherboards have been released is to cater for the new Kaveri APUs that have more CPU and GPU performance than their predecessors. The ASUS A88X-PRO has already been released in a few markets, including the USA, but in the UK we won’t see this motherboard until some point next month. Of course Kaveri will take until the the end of Q1 to hit the shelves so there’s no rush in that regard. The specifications of the ASUS A88X-PRO FM2+ motherboard are as follows:

The A88X-PRO is a socket FM2+ motherboard from ASUS, based on the most high-end chipset for this new platform, the A88X. It is targeted to the forthcoming FM2+ "Kaveri" APUs, but it is also compatible with socket FM2, second-generation APUs from AMD, codenamed "Trinity." Let's see what this motherboard has to offer.

Of course, as more people jumped into the game using Intel’s building blocks, other companies like VIA (who started the form factor the nettop would be built on and built some of the first CPUs and chipsets for it) and NVIDIA wanted a larger piece of the pie. NVIDIA refashioned one of their older IGP flaunting chipsets, the MCP7A and renamed it ION. This move gave them a readymade solution to Intel’s existing (and underpowered) chipset available for the Atom CPU.

After spending several weeks playing with the ASUS AT3IONT-I Deluxe Mini-ITX motherboard all I can say is - WOW! This motherboard is very impressive. With integrated Bluetooth, WiFi, a multimedia remote control, and even a power supply built in, you're well on your way to getting your media center up and running without buying much else.

NVIDIA sieht den IGP-Chipsatz ION als ein Upgrade für Intels Atom Prozessoren. ION bringt DirectX 10, die GPGPU-Technologie CUDA, HD-Beschleunigung, PCI-Express 2.0, RAID und zwei Speicherkanäle für DDR2- bzw. DDR3-Module. Wir haben uns das Mini-ITX-Mainboard ASUS AT3N7A-I angesehen, welches Intels Doppelkern Atom 330 mit NVIDIAs ION kombiniert.

The NVIDIA ION platform and Intel Atom processors are getting increasingly popular. Vendors are launching new motherboards, nettops, and netbooks based on the "Ionized Atom". The reason for such popularity is simple: ION is presently the only option for a supercompact, relatively inexpensive, and potentially noiseless HTPC or an entry-level gaming computer.

The Shrimps and other media were kindly invited to the lovely town of Utrecht in the Netherlands last week for the Asus Tech Conference. Head of Marketing and sales mister Wu Josh was present to present the latest two creations from Asus : the Crosshair 4 Extreme and the Rampage Gene III. Later on Milan Rado went a bit deeper regarding the high end Asus VGA cards. This is gonna be a quick preview of the two boards and the already leaked ROG Expander for the Rampage III Extreme.

The Republic of Gamers consists only of the best of the best and the ASUS Crosshair III Formula motherboard is no exception. With support of AMD AM3 processors up to 140W and top notch features like SupremeFX X-Fi audio, the Crosshair III Formula motherboard is about as good as it gets when it comes to the AMD 790FX/SB750 chipset combination.
