As we draw closer to the November launch of the Sandy Bridge-E platform, we get the chance to check out some of the new motherboards that are due to coincide with the launch. Due to NDA, we can't get too specific on CPUs, nor can we talk about anything performance related. We seem to have the ability to tell you a fair bit about the board, though.

MSI has released four motherboard models for the new socket 2011 platform, the X79A-GD45, the X79MA-GD45, the X79A-GD65, and the X79A-GD65 (8D), targeted to the most high-end processor Intel offers for desktops today, the Core i7 "Sandy Bridge-E" models. Let's take a look at the X79A-GD65 (8D), which comes with five PCI Express x16 slots.

The MSI X79A-GD45 Plus Motherboard is packed with features as Military Class III
components, DrMOS II, Click BIOS II, 6Gbps SATAUSB 3.0 and much more! But how is the
real life performance?

Today we are going to look at the Aerocool Strike-X Air which is a very innovative chassis, designed to appeal to those enthusiasts who spend a lot of time inside their PC and change hardware frequently. It uses an open design, similar to a test bench, which features a large mesh cover to hide the components .

X58 chipset has been introduced to the market for 9 months, and is still on top-of-the-range of Intel product line. For some main board manufacturers, Micro ATX is no longer a low-priced product. We would like to introduce you MSI X58M which is a price-valued Micro ATX, which retails below $200

MSI has taken their portable Wind-series netbook computer system and combined it with the functionality of a full-featured desktop computer system to create a stylish and compact NVIDIA ION-based Wind-Top AE2220-25SUS computer system that fits in the same space as a 21.5-inch widescreen monitor. The small footprint doesn't just shelter a 1080p HDTV LCD display, it also incorporates touch-screen functionality along with an integrated HD web cam and high-fidelity 5.1-channel SRS Premium Sound. Blu-ray Discs can be played back from the MSI Wind Top AE2220, and a digital tuner is also built-in for receiving over-the-air HD broadcasts allowing the DVR functionality within Microsoft Windows 7. Ideal for every workspace conceivable, the dual-core 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 processor handles compute tasks and 4GB of DDR2 system memory ensure there's no delay in program responsiveness, while a 500GB hard drive offers high-capacity storage space for sa! ved data and recorded audio or video multimedia. Both 802.11b/g/n WiFi and 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet give users the flexibility to connect the MSI AE2220 to a LAN or wireless network. In this article, Benchmark Reviews tested the MSI Wind Top AE2220 1080p All-In-One PC.

Intel's Sandy Bridge platform got off to a strong start at the 2011 CES earlier this year before an issue with the P67 chipset sidelined motherboard production for several weeks. The chipset design error wasn't catastrophic by any means and likely wouldn't cause any issues for years to come, but it certainly needed to be corrected regardless. Board manufacturers worked with Intel to replace "bad" boards with those featuring the revised B3 chipset and business is pretty much back to normal at this point.

MSI is determined to take the lead with the new generation of Intel CPUs, and toward that end they've sent us their flagship P67 board, the P67A-GD80. Make no mistake, this board is aimed squarely at the performance-hungry. With features like automatic overclocking, premium solid-state capacitors and enough I/O ports to choke a horse, this board is poised to take the market by storm. MSI's swinging for the bleachers here, let's see if they hit a Grand Slam or a foul ball.

The P67A-GD65 is one of nine new MSI boards supporting Sandy Bridge. Breaking it down further, the GD65 is the flagship board in the "performance" segment alongside the GD55, both of which are ATX form factor. The Performance segment is bested only by the gaming class which features the P67A-GD80 and the insanely ridiculous Big Bang Marshall that features a whopping eight PCIe x16 slots!
