A few months later in May Intel launched an updated Sandy Bridge chipset called Z68 which essentially takes the best features of the P67 and H67 and combines them into one. With a Z68 board, users can overclock the CPU and use the integrated Intel HD graphics. Previously, if you wanted to overclock, you had to buy a P67 board and you had to use a discrete graphics card. If you wanted to use the integrated graphics, you needed an H67 board but then you couldn't overclock the CPU. In addition to these combined features, Z68 also introduces a new feature called Smart Response Technology (SRT) which uses a solid state drive to cache data from a traditional spinning hard drive.

The MSI Z170 Gaming M7 is an affordable Gaming motherboard that is feature rich and possesses the right amount of eye candy to spark anyone’s interest. The core of the motherboard is the Intel Z170 Chipset which is complimented with 20 PCI Express 3.0 lanes which increases bandwidth to up to 32 GB/s. As with all motherboards the primary designs the chipset but it’s up to the partner to expand on the design.

Check this review as we test the MSI X99A GODLIKE ACK motherboard, this motherboard from their Gaming series isn't shy when it comes to naming. But truth be told, this is among the best X99 chipset based motherboards we have tested to date. It ticks all the right boxes and has a feature-set that is amazing.

This is a new X99 motherboard I saw during Computex and was very impressed with how far MSI went to create a great looking motherboard. Much like the X99A Gaming 7 the Godlike is another perfect example of what a high-end gaming motherboard should look like with the added benefit of more cowbell

With X79 still a strong contender, we see if the X79A-GD65 can keep up from MSI.

The MSI X79A-GD65 isn't all that new to us, as earlier in the month we did a full preview on it. Today, though, we get to dive a little deeper into the board and cover some of the stuff we couldn't at the time, including the BIOS and the latest rendition of ClickBIOS II.
