ASRock have been aggressively targeting the overclocking audience in the last year and we have reviewed many of their motherboards for the Intel Z77 and X79 platform. Today we are focusing on a rather special design, created by overclocking guru Nick Shih specifically for the hardcore Z77 enthusiast audience. Make no mistake, ASRock are now a major force in the motherboard sector and today we overclock the Z77 Formula to the limits, and pair it up with an overclocked GTX680 and 16Gb of 2,666mhz rated memory.

Just coming off its world record run, we check out the ASRock Z77 OC Formula mobo built from the ground up by Taiwanese overclocker, Nick Shih.

The Z77 Extreme9 is the most high-end socket 1155 motherboard from ASRock targeted to the "Ivy Bridge" processors (third-generation Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 processors). Let's see what the ASRock Z77 Extreme9 has to offer.

The Z77 Extreme6 motherboard from ASRock is aimed at the middle range and features a clean PCB, and many features that we have seen at the more expensive variants; the mini-PCIe slot is very welcome (placed underneath the first PCI-Express x16 slot) for installation of an Wi-Fi card or extra SSD. ASRock did also include the well-known Frontal USB 3.0 bay, which is a 2-in-1 device since it can house an extra 2.5’’ HDD or SSD (necessary screws are also provided).

The Intel Z77 chipset will be released in April, but we had the privilege of getting the ASRock Z77 Extreme6 for a "first look" article. It will be an entry high-end (or top mid-range, if you will) socket 1155 motherboard targeted to the forthcoming "Ivy Bridge" processors (third-generation Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 processors) and also supporting the current "Sandy Bridge" models (second-generation Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 processors). Let's see what the ASRock Z77 Extreme6 will have to offer.

Today, the embargo breaks on Intel’s latest range of ‘Ivy Bridge’ processors which replace the existing Sandy Bridge parts on the market. We will be using the Intel Core i7-3770K to review the ASRock Z77 Extreme6 motherboard. It is clocked at 3.50GHz, meaning it’s a direct replacement for the i7-2700K which we will be using for comparison purposes in this review.

Today we'll be taking a look at the ASRock z77 Extreme6, a mid-range enthusiast board centered around the Intel Z77 chipset.
Motherboards
The Extreme6 is ASRock’s mid-high end performance board, coming in the top 5 of the 12 boards ASRock offers to the consumer market for this platform. With an ATX form factor, it is extremely attractive with gold and silver accents. Claiming to feature everything an overclocker, gamer, or enthusiast would require including SLI and CrossFire support, Digital Power Phases, and support for heavily overclocked RAM. Backing this up is ASRock’s XFast 555 Software suite, which also claims to boost your USB transfer speed and reduce your gaming ping with a single click of your mouse. Is the ASRock Z77 Extreme6 one of the candidates for your latest upgrade? Read on to find out if it’ll be money well spent.
