The Intel Z77 chipset will be released in April, but we had the privilege of getting the ASRock Z77 Extreme6 for a "first look" article. It will be an entry high-end (or top mid-range, if you will) socket 1155 motherboard targeted to the forthcoming "Ivy Bridge" processors (third-generation Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 processors) and also supporting the current "Sandy Bridge" models (second-generation Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 processors). Let's see what the ASRock Z77 Extreme6 will have to offer.

With Z77 upon us, Biostar believe they have the strength to contend with this ever-growing market.

As we move through our mountain of Intel Z77 Express based motherboards, today we hit the Z77A-GD65 from MSI.

The Z77H2-AX Motherboard from ECS has gold accents all over the place, comes with a clean design and the offered hardware bundle should be enough for most users; regarding the software which ships with it, most is in trial version mode and we would have preferred to see more which could have added value to the product like THX TruStudio Pro. The UEFI interface can be used with ease, except the RAM section, which is more difficult to use compared to the one found on ASRock motherboards.

The EVGA Z77 FTW joins an elite group of motherboards aimed at satisfying the needs of overclocking, gaming and hardware enthusiasts. While this group is small by comparison the things they look for in a motherboard can be rather specific but really make the product better and well suited for the average user looking to build a solid system.

The Extreme6 is ASRock’s mid-high end performance board, coming in the top 5 of the 12 boards ASRock offers to the consumer market for this platform. With an ATX form factor, it is extremely attractive with gold and silver accents. Claiming to feature everything an overclocker, gamer, or enthusiast would require including SLI and CrossFire support, Digital Power Phases, and support for heavily overclocked RAM. Backing this up is ASRock’s XFast 555 Software suite, which also claims to boost your USB transfer speed and reduce your gaming ping with a single click of your mouse. Is the ASRock Z77 Extreme6 one of the candidates for your latest upgrade? Read on to find out if it’ll be money well spent.

According to Wikipedia, social determinants of health are "the economic and social conditions –- and their distribution among the population –- that influence individual and group differences in health status". It probably is not terribly surprising to you if I said people in developed countries have dramatically longer life expectancy than those who live in developing nations, simply because the latter lack even the basic necessities for living, such as clean water and food. But for those who live in developed countries such as Canada and the United States, what determinants do we include when we benchmark these nations against each other? Many researchers propose factors such as income, housing, and employment. While this is nice and agreeable, in my personal opinion, they are all missing one very important aspect. If anyone wants to be healthy, what they truly need is a fast computer that starts every time and never crashes. At the end of the day, let's admit it: We have all screamed and yelled when your computer crashes at just the wrong time, or at the very least, become frustrated at unbearably slow PCs. All these will cost a few years of your life in the long run. So for health related reasons... I think it is time for you to upgrade your desktop, haha. After all, you only live once. To give you a hand, what we have here at APH Networks this morning is a mainstream performance motherboard from Gigabyte. Promising excellent performance, top notch stability, and rock solid reliability that won't break the bank, will the GA-Z77X-UD3H fit the bill? Read on to find out!
