Curious about the technical differences between DDR3, DDR2 and DDR memories? In this tutorial we explain them all.
Memory
Geil was founded in 1993 and has since 1997 been known to produce high quality memory modules and kits, often focusing on the enthusiast market. Last time we looked at memory modules from Geil were back in August 2008. The memory kit we are looking at now is a high performance triple channel kit, designed for the Intel X58 platform with a default speed of 1600MHz.

Sometimes there's more to a memory module than meets the eye : Corsair Dominator and Mushkin Redline modules have always looked better than nice, and now they have the performance to match. We put these two against the OCZ Blade, a real high end kit based upon Elpida's "hyper" chips, and against our 8 previous triple channel kits, in order to get a good view of the Core i7 memory landscape to date.

Today we are taking a look at the our first tri channel ddr 3 kit. Corsair was kind enough to send us a 6Gb kit of their 1600MHz memory. With timings/latency at 7-7-7-20 we are looking at quite decent timings so it is going to be interesting to see what we can do with it when it comes to the overclocking part of this review.

There's only so much a CPU can do. With today's games and software as demanding as they are, wouldn't you like to have an UNGODLY amount of RAM? Join Jason as TechwareLabs investigates the GeIL Evo One 12GB DDR3-1600 Hexa kit.

This is our first how to video. The first of many where will you show you the simplest questions, and answer them in video format.
Have you ever wondered how to install DDR memory modules into your motherboard? Ever had a rough idea, but always been to afraid to do it?
This simple video guide tells you exactly how to do it.
Enjoy!

GSkill have been around for quite a long time and are as they put it one of the leading companies in producing memory. G.Skill’s mission statement is all about providing for it’s customers needs (namely us, the enthusiast users). So let’s have a look if these needs are met in the G.Skill PI Black DDR2 PC2-6400 CL4 4GB kit.
Memory
In the past few months it has been clear that memory manufacturers have mastered high specification triple channel kits with those like Corsairs Dominator-GT really impressing us. So today we have two more kits on our test bench from OCZ and G.Skill, both of which are capable of running at 2000MHz. Added to this we have a set of memory from Kingston which is one of the few that favours volume over extreme speed, their product gives us three 4GB sticks in one kit for a total of 12GB.
