The launch of AMD's hexacore Thuban CPU was combined with their new 890FX chipset. The old RAM wall was history. All over the net we saw screenshots of benchmark-stable rigs with ram speeds way over what was imaginable a few weeks before... Let us pop in Gskill's latest AMD X6 compatible high speed ram: the 4Gb Flare 2000 CL7 kit. Can these do better than our Corsair Hyper GTX2 kit ?

Today I’ll be reviewing one of their latest DDR3 products – the Ballistix 240-Pin DDR3 PC3-12800 with integrated temperature sensors. Yes – you did read that right, these dimms have built in temperature sensors! This is certainly new to me, and as far as I know, not offered by any other manufacturer at a consumer level.

It's been ages since we've seen anything from Super Talent, but when we saw a press release from the company announcing a new 12GB kit, it was time to chase up a sample of a new kit of RAM to test. Over the last few months we've seen some larger memory kits arrive which is a bit of a sign of the times. Cheap memory and the ability to offer higher MHz on higher density kits means we're seeing some pretty fast high capacity memory kits.

Everybody takes life at their own speed. Some take it slow, some like it fast, and some aren't happy unless they're moving at ludicrous speed. For those people, SuperTalent has come out with a new set of performance DDR3 ram that is rated at 2000MT/sa full 666 MT/s faster than the fastest official DDR3-1333. Today, we'll be taking a look at the Super Talent Extreme Performance DDR3 dual channel kit, suited for Socket-1157 Intel or AM3 AMD-based systems.

Everyone knows that the HWBOT database is filled with benchmark results, overclocking data and so much more. One of the perks of having a database like this is not only to amuse (and annoy) overclockers globally, but mainly to analyze the results afterwards and have a better understanding of how the overclocking game really works. Processor and video card charts are scattered around the website, but memory overclocking charts is something we have not touched before.

If you are looking to overclock your system without the guess work that might usually accompany the process, something like the Patriot Memory Viper II Sector 7 1800MHz 6GB DDR3 kit would be a good choice. With an XMP profile included for 1800MHz operation, it takes just a few clicks in the BIOS in order to be up and running faster than a more typical kit.

I've had the Flare kit from G.Skill for what feels like forever now. It has been sitting on the top of the to-do pile, but delays with getting an AMD X6 processor and a motherboard capable of achieving the rated speeds meant that the kit kept getting pushed back further and further.

The last few kits of memory we've looked at from A-DATA have been a part of the Gaming Series. While impressed with what the kits offered, one of my favorite kits of RAM that I've looked at from A-DATA this year was the Plus Series 4GB PC3-17600 kit.
