When it comes to performance memory there are quite a few choices. The one thing you always want to consider is the actual height of the modules. Many aftermarket CPU coolers actually may cover the memory slots on your motherboard. This means you could be limited to what memory you can use. This has actually been a problem for quite a while now. The only real solution was to go with a watercooling setup, but many people do not want to deal with that. Crucial has finally solved the problem by releasing Low Profile versions of both their Ballistix Tactical and Ballistix Sport memory. Today we are taking a look at the Ballistix Tactical LP memory, more specifically the BLT2K8G3D1608ET3LX0 kit. It is a 16GB kit running at 1600MHz with timings of 8-8-8-24 at 1.35v. Let’s take a look!

Crucial's Ballistix kits are all well known, but would it be a good Tactical move to get a generation old kit over today's offerings?

The new Ballistix Tactical memory kits from Crucial are also available in Low Profile format, which means that they have lower height for permitting a better clearance in systems which require it and also operate at a lower voltage (1.35V).

Crucial has recently added a new line to their Ballistix Series of enthusiast memory. The Ballistix Sport XT is part of Ballistix Sport series and Crucial has aimed this kits specifically at gamers. Crucial has improved the heat spreader by making it larger, which gives it more surface area for better heat dissipation. Sport XT modules run at speeds all the way up to 1866 MHz and are available in 4GB and 8GB densities. Today we are going to be taking a look at the BLS4K4G3D18ADS3 kit, which is a 16 GB (4×4 GB) kit that runs at 1866 MHz with timings of 10-10-10-30 at 1.5v. Let’s put this memory to the test and see it is worth getting for your next build!

Micron are on of the biggest DRAM vendors in the industry and Crucial is one of their main brands through which they channel their DRAM products. Today we are looking at Crucial's revamped Ballistix Sport line which now comes with the XT moniker. These Crucial Ballistix Sport XT DDR3 modules we have come in a variety of capacities and speeds which you can see here. The key things to note are that they are available in either 4GB or 8GB modules and can have either 1600MHz or 1866MHz clock speeds. We have with us today the best dual channel kit of the Ballistix Sport XT series, more specifically we have the BLS2K8G3D18ADS3 kit which uses two 8GB DIMMs running at 1866MHz, CL10 latencies and 1.5 volts.

When it comes to system performance, RAM is a component that gets far less attention than it should. While it may have less of an impact than the CPU or GPU, RAM can still be a major bottleneck on performance. Today we're going to be taking a look at the latest kit from Crucial's Ballistix Sport XT line, a 2x8GB kit rated for DDR3 1600. While not pushing the bleeding edge on performance, this kit should still post some solid performance numbers.

Today we are taking a look at the Crucial Ballistix Sport XT 1866 MHz 4x4 GB kit. The Sport XT offers good speeds, sleek looks, and a fair price. At 1866 MHz there is plenty of speed to get things done, and being a 16 GB kit, you are very unlikely to ever run out of memory again. Read on to see how it performs with our A10-6800k.

The Crucial Ballistix Sport VLP kit being reviewed today contains 2x8GB memory modules rated at 9-9-9-24 timings. Voltage requirements are lower than normal, and just like the Tactical series from Crucial, they are rated at 1.35v. This kit has an even lower profile than the Ballistix Tactical series we reviewed last month, which should appeal to those with cramped cases.

With their Ballistix Sport VLP (Very Low Profile) modules Crucial are looking to offer a value packed product which appeals to consumers who need low voltage, compact memory in high capacities.

The latest Ballistix Sport DDR3 1600MHz 12GB CL10 triple channel memory kit may not be suitable for hardcore overclockers and enthusiasts but it's a very good choice for people who are out to get an 12GB triple channel kit with price as the determining factor.
