With the release of P67 has come a massive amount of memory to look at, and as I was sitting here testing a bunch of 2133MHz DDR 4GB kits, I was thinking to myself; I wonder if we could get two kits of something and have 8GB of memory running at 2133MHz DDR. I knew it would have to come in the form of four modules, as there are simply no 4GB modules that carry 2133MHz rated speeds.
Today we're looking at another kit of RAM from G.Skill and this one doesn't carry the new "X" tag at the end of the "Ripjaws" name, which means it isn't quite as hard core as the previous 2133MHz DDR kit we looked at. Instead, this kit carries with it a 2000MHz DDR clock, but is twice as large with the two modules coming in at 4GB each.
Out of the box the Ballistix BL2KIT25664FN1869 kit offers great performance that should satisfy just about anyone. If this isn’t enough these Ballistix sticks offer a decent overclock while keeping the stock timings. Crucial has also put thermal sensors in these sticks so that you can monitor the temperatures with their Ballistix MOD Utility should you really want to push the limits.
As a general rule of thumb you will see a significant performance increase whenever you can run your memory clock above the default 13.33x multiplier setting and that is what you will get from these modules. While the Patriot Division 2 Viper Xtreme modules may not have the best timings their overall performance is perfect for gaming and general purpose computing.
We've mentioned already a number of times, including in our OCZ Platinum XTE review of the 2000MHz DDR kit, because of there being no divider for 2000MHz DDR you have to adjust the very limited BCLK. What it ultimately means is a bit of a hit and miss experience with 2000MHz DDR memory. If it's good overclocking RAM, you'll be ok. If not, you could struggle to hit the default clocks due to the limited option in the BIOS.

Today we're looking at a Platinum XTE Series kit from OCZ and it's actually the first time we've seen a kit from this series. To get a bit more specific, we're dealing with a PC3-16000 or 2000MHz DDR 4GB kit that comes in with a 9-9-9-24-1T @ 1.65v setup.
