The memory we will be testing today is of part number EP3001A, which Exceleram are selling at 1333Mhz, but with the intention that it will be used for overclocking: “The EP series includes memory(kits) based on timing latencies of (currently) 1333mhz, but with "air" up to the top, so that overclockers have their fun.” says Steffen Eisenstein, Product Manager at Exceleram. Is this a bold claim of a new company, or true? Read on to find out.

Cela faisait longtemps, trop ?

G.Skill have been around for quite a few years and have always focussed on providing the best memory in terms of stability and style. Whilst they have remained quiet for a little while, they are back and are throwing all of their energy into the high end memory market.

Sick looks and integrated water cooling top off this special H2O edition from Kingston with their HyperX 4GB 2133MHz kit. Legit Reviews pushes the Kingston HyperX H2O 2133Mhz memory kit in our Sandy Bridge test bench to see if there is any more juice that can be squeezed out of it and we will show you how this DDR3 memory kit stacks up to some run of the mill 1600MHz memory.

As a user of 24GB of RAM myself, I can see the use in such a large amount of memory for anything from editing High Definition video personally, to people who want to use VMware. Up until now, though, we really only saw companies offer 16BG kits and if you wanted to make the move to a Z68 platform, massive memory amount options were limited.

In what feels like ages ago now, during Computex we saw Apacer show off the new ARES PC3-17066 kit. I've used Apacer RAM in the past, but I couldn't even tell you how long ago it was and while we've seen the company offer quality module after quality module over the years, it's really been in that main stream segment with high end performance not being something they've focused a lot on.

I really liked the new G.Skil RipjawsZ PC3-17000 16GB Kit we looked at during the launch of the new X79 platform from Intel. Priced at $179.99 US, it also hits at a pretty good price point, if you're looking at trying to keep it under the $150 US mark, though, and you figure that you don't need RAM that goes into the 2000MHz+ DDR realm, we might have the G.Skill kit for you today.
