We had a look at the GeIL EVO VELOCE the other day and today we're checking out the new EVO Leggera RAM kit.
Memory

There's only so much a CPU can do. With today's games and software as demanding as they are, wouldn't you like to have an UNGODLY amount of RAM? Join Jason as TechwareLabs investigates the GeIL Evo One 12GB DDR3-1600 Hexa kit.

Golden Emperor International Limited is what the abbreviation GeIL stands for. Today we introduce one of their brand new EVO VELOCE DDR3 Hardcore gaming memory kits. For once not a dual channel 8GB kit running at blistering speeds. But a whopping dual channel 16GB kit, running at a moderate 2133MHz at acceptable CAS 10 Latency timings. Maybe a perfect kit for those that want to buy adequately fast paced ram right now and have the option to upgrade later to a massive 32GB, by adding a 2nd kit. Without further ado let's open the package and see what these VELOCEs can offer us...

It's been a while since we've seen anything from GeIL, but today we check its new EVO VELOCE PC3-17000 RAM kit

GEIL is a Taiwanese company that produces a number of PC hardware components for gamers, including SSDs and RAM. Today we’ll be looking at the latter – specifically, we’ll be testing their EVO VELOCE line of memory, which is their fourth line of DDR3 memory. Our particular kit runs at 2133 MHz (that’s PC3-17000) and is compatible with most contemporary motherboards running Sandy Bridge or Ivy Bridge processors. We were impressed with Golden Emperor International Ltd’s previous RAM series when we reviewed it last year – will this newest batch live up to its Italian namesake? Let’s find out.

The 16GB EVO CORSA 2400MHz is another high-end quad-channel kit from GeIL, which features quite tall heatspreaders with a special design and passed Die-Hard Burn-in tests for increased reliability. These modules are not cheap, the kit being available online for about 185 Euros.

There is a large market for memory modules. Ranging from standard value ones to high speed, low latency overclocking modules for extreme benchmarkers looking to break world records. Today I've gotten my hands on some overclocker oriented RAM, the GeIL Ultra Plus DDR3-2000 CL9. This kit should offer speeds that aren't achievable by normal motherboards on stock settings. Let's see if GeIL can live up their promise for decent overclocking memory.

Geil was founded in 1993 and has since 1997 been known to produce high quality memory modules and kits, often focusing on the enthusiast market. Last time we looked at memory modules from Geil were back in August 2008. The memory kit we are looking at now is a high performance triple channel kit, designed for the Intel X58 platform with a default speed of 1600MHz.
