Crucial's Ballistix & Ballistix Tracer memory modules are their enthusiast / high performance memory lineup. Today we will be taking a look at the 6GB DDR3 1600MHz triple-channel memory kit. Crucial also offers a 6GB DDR3 kit running at 1333 MHz.

TechwareLabs reviews the Crucial Ballistix Tracer RAM, which aims to provide more flash for less cash. We'll see if it has the performance to back up the presentation.

Crucial under its parent company Micron has been producing high quality, standard spec computer memory for more than 30 years. Although a latecomer to the performance marketplace, Crucial has not disappointed their fans and has built quite a name for its Ballistix line of memory over the last six years, beginning with their high speed DDR up through DDR2 and now DDR3. The Tracer series adds an interesting twist, that of LED activity lighting on the memory sticks themselves, useful for indicating memory utilization and also just for the bling factor. The memory I have for review today is the red version of Crucial's latest Ballistix Tracer series, in a 2x2Gb kit of PC3-12800 8-8-8-24.
Memory
Crucial have done it again by releasing a product that ticks almost every box. This memory gives something unique to the design by offering up the patented Ballistix heatspreaders and Tracer LED features, but this time with an improvement as the functionality has been extended to give more flexibility to the user with the ability to change certain aspects of the Tracer features including colour, patterns and so forth.

Crucial is popular for good reason, the reviews for their RAM have always been on a positive, with good reliability and overclocking ability. We will see if this is the case for their Value Ram kit as well.
Memory
For this review I will be looking at some hardware from a company that probably needs no introduction as they synonymous with computer memory, they are of course Crucial, now Lexar Crucial. The product under review is some of their newer memory, 2x 1GB sticks of DDR3 1600 Ballistix or to give it its proper “name” BL12864BA1608

Everyone knows that the HWBOT database is filled with benchmark results, overclocking data and so much more. One of the perks of having a database like this is not only to amuse (and annoy) overclockers globally, but mainly to analyze the results afterwards and have a better understanding of how the overclocking game really works. Processor and video card charts are scattered around the website, but memory overclocking charts is something we have not touched before.
