Our first Intel Z87 memory kit comes from Corsair and is part of the new Vengeance Pro line. Let's dive in and check it out.

If you liked the Vengeance Pro kit we looked at the other day, but want something faster, we might have the kit for you.

We check out the Corsair Vengeance Pro PC3-23400 kit which comes with a massive 2933MHz DDR stock clock. If you want high-end, read on.

So, was the Corsair Vengeance Pro 1866MHz DRAM kit pretty sweet? I must say it absolutely met my expectations, and this includes everything from appearance to performance. I was able to overclock these modules from 1866MHz with 9-10-9-27 2T timings to 2000MHz with 9-9-9-27 1T timings with the same 1.5 volts. I also managed to bump the modules up to 2200MHz with 9-12-11-32 2T timings, but had to bump the voltage to 1.58v...

While we see a fair bit of memory from Corsair, something we haven't seen in a while is a new series from the company with most kits being part of the high end Dominator line-up. Recently we checked out a new addition to the XMS line, but today we're checking out a kit from the newly launched Vengeance series.

The release of P67 hasn't done much in the way of RAM requirements, which for the most part is great. We say for the most part only because the lack of changes means that there's nothing super exciting about RAM on the new platform. With that said, though, there's a change when it comes to JEDEC standard; 1600MHz DDR being the stock minimum clock now and CL9 timings also being the minimum at those speeds. Companies aren't going to have an issue, though, as we've been dealing with speeds well above 1600MHz DDR for a long time now.

I remember the XMS series back in the day of original DDR memory. It really was the bees knees of memory and it let us know that it was the cream of the crop when it came to Corsairs memory line-up. Over the years, though, we've seen less XMS series memory from Corsair; instead performance has been dominated by the Dominator series.

The Crucial CT2KIT25664BA1339 gives users 4GB of memory at DDR3-1333 CAS 9 speeds. You would think there’s no room for improvement but Crucial still puts quality first. This kit easily overclocks to DDR3 1496 speeds without any voltage or timing adjustments. For less than seventy bucks, that’s hard to beat.
