It's coming to the point where the speed is just so high that we have to wonder what exactly people are doing with this massive amount of bandwidth. It's been a while since we've seen anything from Patriot and we've got to say our initial impressions have us a little worried if we're going to get the speed promised by the company.

If you are looking to overclock your system without the guess work that might usually accompany the process, something like the Patriot Memory Viper II Sector 7 1800MHz 6GB DDR3 kit would be a good choice. With an XMP profile included for 1800MHz operation, it takes just a few clicks in the BIOS in order to be up and running faster than a more typical kit.

The big push in 2013 for mobile performance will be fought in battery life. Like every other market, if you want to get the best available you have to go to the aftermarket for premium components. The Patriot Memory for Ultrabooks will increase your notebook or ultrabook battery life, but just like everything premium, you have to pay a bit more.

Last month we reviewed Patriot's low voltage SODIMM 'Memory for Ultrabook' RAM and found it increased notebook battery life over standard 1.5v SODIMM memory. We're back now to answer the question we left with last month - what happens to battery performance when I use more than one stick of memory?

Limited Edition memory is not something that we find cropping up all too often, but when Patriot announced the Intel Extreme Masters Limited Edition kits to coincide with the IEM tournaments earlier in the year, we decided that this would be the ideal opportunity to not only take a look at them, but also the Viper 3 kits as well, considering this is a Viper 3 in a prestige jacket.
Having a top end memory kit is not always the focus of the market in general, considering most people are after capacity these days and don't really care about speed or quality. Patriot have noted this and instead of hitting an already flooded field with yet another kit like the rest, they have developed something that appeals more to the enthusiast and high end user that wants a kit that has a high level of performance, built on quality components.
To make the limited edition kits for the Intel Extreme Masters overclocking championships, Patriot have taken their Viper 3 and given the heatsinks a colour change to match with Intel's corporate colours, leaving the shape the same as the Viper 3's standard design for recognition.

I am a huge fan of special or limited edition memory kits. Memory has sort of been boring the past year as not much has really changed and products like SSD’s are being chosen as the main component to speed up your system when it comes to an upgrade. The kit we are taking a look at today from Patriot was made for Intel’s Extreme Masters gaming tournaments. The kit features a very unique and stylish design and is available in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB kits up to 2133MHz in either dual or quad channel configurations. The kits are tested to work with Intel 6 and 7 series chipsets, are XMP certified and have a lifetime warranty. Read on as we take a look at this limited edition memory!

Overclocking is getting easier than ever, and more and more users are finding that they want to try their hand at what used to be an art reserved for hardcore computer enthusiasts. In this article Benchmark Reviews tests the Patriot Gamer Series 4GB PC3-12800 DDR3-1600 dual-channel system memory kit, SKU PGS34G1600ELKA. Patriot designed this DDR3 kit to work with BEMPs (Black Edition Memory Profiles) that have been uploaded for use with the AMD Overdrive program in order to make overclocking even easier for the average enthusiast. This Patriot Gamer Series DDR3 RAM is designed to work in tandem with AMD Black Edition processors, but can be overclocked quite effectively in nearly any DDR3 compatible system. Priced at $130, the Patriot Gamer Series PC3-12800 DDR3-1600 kit represents a great opportunity for PC hardware enthusiasts to upgrade to low latency, high-performance memory at a very affordable price.

AMD systems are a little picky when it comes to RAM. Sure, most RAM will work, but quite often when we start to hit high speed kits they can have problems running at stock speed on an AMD platform. With the launch of the new 990FX chipset that's ready for Bulldozer along with the new Llano platform which has shown strong memory performance, it was only a matter of time 'till we saw some AMD specific kits.

We've had a look at a fair few kits of memory over the last few weeks, but we've got more now, and today we're checking out another kit from Patriot. This one's a little different to the other kits we've looked at, as it carries with it the lowest clock we've tested to date on the P67 platform.
