Besides those branded memory makers, Patriot is another popular memory brand which was established in 1985. Most of the Patriot's products are quite similar with other memory makers where they have value memory modules, extreme performance modules, flash drive, SSD, memory card and etc. Today we will take a look on their Extreme Performance Enhanced Latency PC2 8500 memory modules.

While people understand that RAM helps your computer run efficiently, not everyone knows exactly how it works. More of it means you can do more simultaneously, but not all people can explain why, or tell you exactly what the RAM is doing in your system that gives it that edge. Let’s take a look at exactly what RAM is, and how it works.

If you're in the market for some DDR3 memory these days, you will see a lot of sets being advertised as "Optimized for use in Intel i5 and i7 systems". There's a lot of confusion in the marketplace about whether these products are suitable for use in other applications. The truth is that most all of them can be used in any system that uses DDR3 memory, as long as the BIOS on the motherboard can supply the correct voltage, usually around 1.6V for most sets. In this article Benchmark Reviews will examine how a dual-channel kit of 1600MHz CL7 RIPJAWS modules from premier maker G.Skill performs on an AMD 790FX platform.

Overclocking is getting easier than ever, and more and more users are finding that they want to try their hand at what used to be an art reserved for hardcore computer enthusiasts. In this article Benchmark Reviews tests the Patriot Gamer Series 4GB PC3-12800 DDR3-1600 dual-channel system memory kit, SKU PGS34G1600ELKA. Patriot designed this DDR3 kit to work with BEMPs (Black Edition Memory Profiles) that have been uploaded for use with the AMD Overdrive program in order to make overclocking even easier for the average enthusiast. This Patriot Gamer Series DDR3 RAM is designed to work in tandem with AMD Black Edition processors, but can be overclocked quite effectively in nearly any DDR3 compatible system. Priced at $130, the Patriot Gamer Series PC3-12800 DDR3-1600 kit represents a great opportunity for PC hardware enthusiasts to upgrade to low latency, high-performance memory at a very affordable price.

G.Skill sets a new standard for DDR3 energy efficiency with their DDR3 ECO Series. This DDR3-1600C7 kit runs on a meager 1.35vdimm while offering performance and price similar to its competition. Check out how this low voltage kit stacks up and if low voltage memory is helpful in lowering power consumption.

Kingston sent the PC3-12800 24GB kit over a few months ago and since then I've tried to organize some things to really take advantage of the large amounts of memory. Having the ability to get suitable programs and what not hasn't been easy, though. Instead I've been using the kit for the last few weeks just to see what I think about it and I've also ran the kit through our normal memory benchmark suite.

I've had the Flare kit from G.Skill for what feels like forever now. It has been sitting on the top of the to-do pile, but delays with getting an AMD X6 processor and a motherboard capable of achieving the rated speeds meant that the kit kept getting pushed back further and further.

The new Viper II Series RAM from Patriot offers only the best: extremely low latency and high speeds. How does this claim translate into actual performance and are the prices as extreme as the name? Read on and find out.
