We are literally just a few weeks away from Christmas and since all of us here happen to consider that season as the best and most cheerful time of the year we’ve decided to spend a weekend on the mountain away from technology and more specifically computers and TV. Personally i like the idea since i do need some time off to relax but I’m not about to leave here entirely unprepared and so because of that for the past 2 weeks we've been doing our best to get our hands on as many portable devices as possible that can help us enjoy our time there while at the same time making us feel safer. TDK has been in the business of designing and manufacturing high performance wireless speaker systems for quite some time now but until just recently they didn't offer something really tiny in their product line. It seems however that TDK listens to their consumer base and so the latest TREK A26 Ultra-Portable Wireless Speaker is here to change that.

Today for review I’ve got a pair of headphones or earbuds from a company called Meze and they’re called the 11 Classics and what makes these special I think is the fact that they’re made of wood. The majority of headphones on market are plastic with some made of metal but not many from wood. I’m not sure why you don’t see more headphones made from wood. Take a look at speakers, the best ones are made from wood and they produce the best sound, so why don’t we see more wood headphones if we know that wood gives us a better sound overall? I don’t know the answer to that, but I do know the headphones I have for review today are very much worth a look if you appreciate good sound from your music. The Meze 11 Classics are priced at about $80 and that’s not overly expensive but it’s not exactly inexpensive either, I guess it depends on what you consider expensive or not. The headphones do come with a nice carrying case and I have to say that they are quality made overall. So read on…

I’m sitting here 30,000 feet above ground level, listening to remixes of old songs while tapping away at my computer. While the roar of the engines might not be silenced by the pair of Fanny Wang Earbuds pressed into my ears, nor is the sound blasting through their speakers anything to write about, they are comfortable and I haven’t even thought of removing them for the duration of the flight.

With over a decade of experience in computer audio, Diamond is no stranger to PC sound cards and we come into this review with hopes for a positive impression of the Xtreme Sound 7.1 XS71HDU. Since just about every computer has USB ports, a USB sound card, unlike an internal desktop sound card, is useful to laptop owners and all-in-one computer owners or even people who want to share this device across different systems. The XS71HDU is the newest entrant in Diamond’s lineup of Xtreme Sound cards which includes an older USB card also called Xtreme Sound 7.1, but different model name...

If things go as they should and all game publishers manage to roll-out their latest PC titles as planned 2015 may just turn out to be a great year for gamers around the world. The list of PC games scheduled for release in 2015 is very long but some of them really stand out like Grand Theft Auto 5, The Witcher 3, Batman Arkham Knight, Battlefield Hardline, Call Of Duty 12, EVE Valkyrie, Mad Max, World of Warships, Star Wars Battlefront, Entropy, Just Cause 3, Dreadnought, Galactic Civilizations 3, HomeWorld Remastered and Carmageddon: Reincarnation because let’s face it, gamers have been waiting for them for quite some time now (HomeWorld Remastered, Carmageddon Reincarnation and Grand Theft Auto 5 especially for many years now). Unfortunately whereas titles like EVE Valkyrie require players to spend a nice amount of money on VR headsets like the Occulus Rift just to be able to play (unless this changes until launch that is - we hope it does) the rest require the usual gaming peripherals for the best possible experience. Headsets are particularly important when playing games and the latest Siberia Elite Prism virtual surround sound headset by SteelSeries should be all you've ever wanted and then some.

Antec are renowned among enthusiast circles for creating some of the finest computer cases and power supplies on the market. Like others in todays climate they are expanding into new territories and have turned their attention to speakers. This isn’t a half hearted attempt however, with a new subsidiary entitled ‘SoundScience’.

A few years ago, almost three to be exact, I reviewed the Future Sonics Atrio M5 earphones and I found them to be an excellent product. To this day my opinion hasn’t changed of them, I still grab them first even though I’ve got many others to pick from. Future Sonics though isn’t he type of company to leave well enough alone and they just had to go an improve upon on one of the best sounding earphones on the market. Aesthetically they haven’t changed, the internal workings have been improved with a new version of their proprietary drivers that offer a wider range of frequencies and just all around better specs. The set or kit I have today is the special edition that is green, this kit features packaging made from recycled materials and a carrying case made from used rubber inner tubes.
