Auzentech have been around for a few years now and that's a good thing; as well as being impressive. They entered the sound card game when it was all about Creative and they did so by simply taking a popular chip, the X-Fi, and throwing it on a board of their own with some nice tweaks. A winning formula. Now though, they're branching away from these roots with the re-tooled X-Meridian 7.1, named the 2g. Packing a C-Media CMI8788 audio processor with support for plenty of connectors, a daughter board and replacable OpAmps; audiophiles look like they're in for a treat. Let's see if the rumours are true.

Ultimate Ears specializes exclusively in producing headphones. They have in their chosen everything from cheap headphones for 30 dollars, and almost luxurious versions in price ranges up to and even above 800 dollars. Today we look at one of their cheap versions and see how much sound you can get out of a set of in-ear headphones for under 60 dollars. In-ear does as its name says that you have the headphones inside the ear like earplugs. Series called Ultimate Ears 100, where Logitech has been involved in over and develop. It is also possible to buy Ultimate Ears 100 on Logitech's website, but much more on this later. Now let's jump into it and look at these little headphones.

Sound is one of the most overlooked areas of PC enthusiast-dom. It’s not as exciting as overclocking your GPU and it’s difficult to measure the quality. That said, getting yourself a good set of speakers/headphones can make a big difference to your media viewing and game playing, but the price can be a difficult barrier.

It seems like Creative is following the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” mantra for their latest Tactic 3D lineup of gaming headsets. For a company with a name that literally implies innovation, this comes across as a little strange for me. In fact, the headsets in the Tactic 3D lineup look so similar that when Creative sent me the Tactic 3D Rage to review I had to double check the box to make...

Following on from the RHA CA-200 Noise isolating headphone review last week, Benchmark Reviews is all set to take a look at the higher priced RHA SA950i On-Ear Portable Headphones from Reid Heath Acoustics. The SA950i headphones are designed primarily for Apple iPhone/iPod/iPad users, but will also work just as well on most other modern smartphones. Available in Apple Retail Stores from October 30th 2012 (MSRP $59.95), the RHA website claim the SA950i Headphones feature "technologies more commonly found in full-sized studio equipment, and delivers professional-grade audio in a compact supra-aural design". The SA950i Headphones also feature a 1.5m braided cable with a multi function in-line remote, contour forming ear cups, adjustable chrome sliders, 40mm titanium coated mylar drivers and dynamic neodynium magnets. RHA seem pretty confident about the SA950i Headphones, and we aim to see if they can really deliver...

Today I'll be taking a look at a mid-price range 2.1 speaker system from Wavemaster, a popular German audio company that seems to have big ambitions for the rest of Europe, including the UK. Priced at around €69 they're certainly priced well enough to attract a lot of general consumers. This is something that has caught the attention of the German markets where they are proving a popular choice on Amazon.de and today we hope to find out why they're proving so popular.
