Today we take a look at the Noontec Rio in-ear headphones and having previously reviewed the Noontec Zoro wireless headphones and giving them a big thumbs up I was excited to review the Rio earphones. On paper the Rio offers high quality sound in an attractive package and I'm keen to see what they can do.
In ear headphones are more popular than ever, in fact it is safe to say that personal audio is more popular than ever with the market saturated by mobile audio devices such as Tablets, portable gaming devices, mobiles, mp3 players and more. So it can really be important to have some person headphones that are not only great in terms of performance, but also comfortable and of course affordable.

I recall a time when the most impressive portable audio device in my possession was a Philips Waterproof Discman that came bundled with a nice pair of earphones which to me they seemed to perform better than anything i had ever used in the past. Because of that and also because of the price tag that particular Discman had i never actually even thought about finding something better and i left it at that (i still have that Discman in very good condition). That however was roughly 15 years ago so today i always try to find the best headphones and earphones in the market not only because it's what i do obviously but also because i really want to see how much technology can advance until having to change the entire concept behind the how such devices work. Noontec is a company we just learned of almost 2 months ago and since their headphones have won quite a few awards around the world we decided to take a few of them for a ride the first of which is the ZORO HD (High Definition) Fashion Hi-Fi Headphones.

The Noontec Zoro HD features several improvements on the previous Zoro model. The company have tweaked the sound characteristics, hopefully offering higher-quality bass and the addition of an in-line microphone and call/answer button.

Up until recently I had never heard of Noontec as a brand, had I not been shown more details then these headphones would have passed me by otherwise! I have listened to RF and bluetooth headphones in the past and the technology just wasn’t good enough back then to offer high enough quality music or for audio to be in sync with what’s happening on screen for those who watch movies or play games.
I checked the details of the Zoro on the Noontec website which labels them as “Fashion” headphones (I’ll come to this later on) and that they also have a HD version which appears to have a $20 lower RRP but is an older model.
The majority of buyers who are looking for wireless headphones today will no doubt be using them on their smartphones and tablets, so for the bulk of this review I will be basing my findings from a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 which is the best of both worlds, better known as a phablet. I’ll also be adding additional thoughts on the performance when connected to a Hi-Fi amplifier with the supplied cable.
Will this new Noontec model offer a solution to those issues or will they disappoint, let’s find out!

Today on our test bench we will be taking a look at a set of Bluetooth wireless headphones from Noontec. Noontec have primarily been developing products for the home entertainment market and have a range of home media players as well as several accessories for the Android mobile platform. Now though they have moved into the personal audio space with a number of new products and today we will be looking at the Zoro Fashion Hi-Fi headphone which is a Bluetooth wireless headset.

Inside June we received over a dozen of emails by some readers asking about which portable speaker we think it would be best for them to purchase in order to accompany them in their summer vacations. Now of course some of you asked about portable speakers with superior audio quality and plenty of volume while others chose to ask for something really small in both size and weight with good battery life. As you all know the answer is not a simple one and normally large portable speakers produce better and more powerful audio compared to smaller ones while at the same time they also feature larger rechargeable battery packs. If however there's one thing I’ve learned over the years using and testing countless electronics is that there are always exceptions (never say never basically) and the Cube high performance portable speaker by NuForce seems to have what it takes to be part of that small club.
